to keith - that's very interesting testimony about eliminating yeast & wheat from the diet. i was wondering if it were even possible, and if so, what would the results be! now, i have to make the decision as to whether or not i want to even try such a thing!! what kind of bread can be bought without any kind of wheat?

Even sprouted wheat, oats, barley and rye will contain traces of gluten and nullify your effort.

Try corn tortillas if you really MUST have bread.

Whole Foods have gluten-free breads. Check the labels for yeast, that makes bread rise and ouff up. Yeast-free breads are flat.

On our website under NUTRITION you will find a section that has a number of recipes including several for rice flour breads, pizza crusts, etc... NO GLUTEN.

fascinating information about the sprouts. My sisters baby has all kind of allergies and she eats that bread -i'll have to let her know.ldn specialist hahahaI really believe that about ldn is that over is straightens out your immune system so your better able to tolerate things.  I agree with you 100%cyndiOn Dec 2, 2006, at 11:50 AM, Baillargeon wrote: Actually, sprouts can contain gluten (and wheat), so if one has Celiac, it would be wise not to try it.  I am a registered dietitian (the LDN at the end of my name is Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, not Low Dose Naltrexone-specialist).  I also have to stay away from gluten because of Hashimoto’s, but I’m thinking that the LDN therapy may help build the immune system so foods can be better tolerated.  This LDN therapy is a new research area for me, but it seems plausible to eventually be allergy/food sensitive free once the autoimmune diseases are ‘corrected’ (Celiac disease may be a different matter though because gluten is the primary factor).  J. thanx for the quote from the ldn site! that does make sense. i was just paying attention to other articles i've read, that if u strengthen the immune system, it would make it go further out of whack - in other words give it more to feed on!!

For a long time it was thought that autoimmune diseases were caused

by an immune system that is too strong. However, it is being proven

over and over that it is a weakened, misguided/misdirected

immune system.

I remember seeing a graph showing endorphin levels for " normal

people " . The level was much higher than that of a person with MS and

levels were even lower still for those people during a MS attack.

Have you read through the http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/ site?

This is the main site for LDN. It would answer most of your questions.

This is one quote from that site:

" There is growing recognition in the scientific community that

autoimmune diseases result from immunodeficiency, which disturbs the

ability of the immune system to distinguish " self " from " non-self " .

The normalization of the immune system induced by LDN makes it an

obvious candidate for a treatment plan in such diseases. "

>

> the problem with improving the immune system is that it can cause

more

> problems if it is an autoimmune disease, like crohn's - is this not

true??
