Guest guest
Have you tried ONCE at bedtime? All effects of LDN except raised endorphins would be gone by morning. The weight gain is not a symptom I have heard anyone on the nightly dose mention at all. > > Hello friends, > I Take LDN for some disscociative disorder symptoms, which have > inmproved, but the weight gain issues really have me considering > stopping the drug. Guest guest
Deb, I share your pain! haha! But I won't stop the LDN! Since I started LDN, you had better feed me or I will be in an aweful way. haha! It isn't fun. I, as well have gained weight...but was told it is the LDN fixing other things as well. hmmmmmm? It doesn't seem as bad as 5 months ago though...so maybe it levels off. Have been on LDN for 7 months. We can only hope. Make sure you are drinking at least 8, 8 oz. glasses of water a day. Water means alot. I just try to cut back on the calories here and there. Little things. Of course exercise is important. Okay, speaking of weight! All Have a Blessed Thanksgiving! Guest guest
Don't eat white flour, white sugar, white rice, white potatoes and trans fats. So I wouldn't know if LDN is causing me any weight gain, it certainly isn't helping me lose any but I wouldn't care if LDN made me gain 500 pounds (226.79kg), it has greatly lessened a pain that was making me have suicidal thoughts, has stopped my disease progression for over 3 years and has allowed me to improve my overall health. One yucky thing LDN has caused me is I'm now having 2 menses cycles a month. Before giving up on the med, try taking only 4.5mg between the hours of 9pm and 3am and see if your pain is controlled and your hunger lessens. Guest guest
Thats quite a claim . What proof do you have that LDN causes extra menstrual cycles? Are you sure it's the LDN?> >> > LDN causes you to have > two periods per month??> ======> > Yep, one week off, one > week on, one week off, > one week on.> > >
Guest guest
> > Thats quite a claim . What proof do you have that LDN causes extra > menstrual cycles? Are you sure it's the LDN? ======== Had my GYN and a second opinion GYN check me out thoroughly and no problems anywhere...the 2 menses cycles started shortly after I started LDN, a lady in South Africa also started having 2 cycles a month shortly after starting LDN and LDN has caused a few other women to have more frequent cycles. A couple of women who were well past menopause had a period show up, 1 after 2 years of being on LDN and the other a few months after starting LDN. LDN will also make a woman more fertile. I guess our hormones are being shifted around. Before LDN my MS caused my menses cycle to disappear for 3 years so I guess I'm having all those I missed. I was quite concerned and got me checked and the only thing I was doing different was taking the LDN. Docs say I'm not nearing menopause by the tests that were done, no cancers, etc.
Guest guest
LDN is passive, it has no direct effect on disease, we depend on our body to react in a positive way to that blockage. For some it doesnt , even though they follow the original guidelines, that tells me there are unanswered questions. If we had all the answers, there wouldnt be a need for research. Like Skip said before, maybe in 10 years we'll have those answers.>> if that happened after starting LDN, I could see making that correlation.> > What we may fail to realize is that the LDN only does ONE thing. That's it, just ONE thing. A Temporary Blockade on receptors. That's it.> > It puts bubble gum over a garden hose that has a very small drip. The gum only can hold back the building pressure for just so long. The water molecules build up and build up at the same time the bubble gum is losing it's holding power. Ideally the pressure is built up strong just around the same time the bubble gum gives out. So you have 1 of 3 scenarios... the other 2 aren't as strong.
