A word search (control, F) for " nuclei " in this 60-page article on the

interpretation of muscle biopsies turns up this information:

In normal muscle, less than 3% of fibers should have internal nuclei

(located in the center of the fiber). The myofiber nuclei normally are

located at the periphery of the cells. Increased internal nuclei indicate

myopathy but are a non-specific finding in many different kinds of myopathy.

The article also has many images including some of increased nuclei.

May require free registration to view, but definitely worth it.
