I am still here sticking it out, what else can i do? the shingles are really terribly terribly painful. i never knew. i continue to have more break out each day the past couple days and now there is some kind of huge knot under my right armpit around the side of right breast. Who knows what this is??? My body is just really reacting or shutting down or something I guess. They didnt prescribe pain meds to me for the shingles so I after reading the web sites I am taking my amitrytiline regularly that they prescribe me for headaches but that i never take anymore, and the ultram that they have prescribed me for sarcoid pain. at least they help me sleep soem but they really are not touching the pain. im on the other seizure meds, so hoepfully they will help me avoid long term problems. they gave me the cream to put on the skin as well. Im in a lot of pain, so wanted to thank everyone for writing me, i love you all, and think of and pray for you daily. your thoughts mean so much to me. when i can sit uip longer i will respond to your messages individually. for now, know that i have recieved each of them and how much they have meant to me. take care and god bless, kim ns moderator Yahoo! I'm sure that's something I don't need to tell you. But call your doctor and ask for some stronger pain meds. They also have medications now for the shingles as well as good ointment, called Zoverex, it comes in tablets which you need and ointment which you need also, plus the pain meds.. Most doctors know that you need something strong for pain, unless they haven't been practicing long or they are (forgive me) just plain stupid.... Call the man!!! or woman!!!! You need the serious pain control, so that you can rest. Also, anything that you can do to detox your liver, (Do you have access to Milk Thistle capsules?) and get as much in the way of fluids down as you can. Ester Vitamin C would also help to flush your lymphs--and that too would help. I'll try to find you info on Shingles (Herpes Zoster) and see what we can suggest. If needed, we'll try to get somehting shipped to you. Can you call the Female Md that you had here that took enough time to answer your questions, and get her advice. Calling Drs here is an impossibility, private or public, they simply do not have pagers, services or other means of contacting them. This rash is getting worse and worse each day and today the terrible pain from the beginning has come back at a different place along my spine. I am afraid it means a second belt of them, its on the same side though so I dont know. I have some of my pain patches left here from the states and will bring one out if things get that bad again, despite how angry the drs here will be and all the questions of where i got it from etc, I still have the prescription letter for the medication. I am now having weird electrical shocks down into my hand and an odd muscle weakness sensation thats very transient in my thigh muscle on the same side as the hand thing is going on. Of course telling the drs this will gt me no where, do you know if these are normla sensations during shingles? I am so sick and tired , tired and sick of all of it. Why now, why this, why everything, and im not whyyyyning. Its just enough already.
