I dont mind the impressions much, but physically I think they need more

space to get the things in than I can open my mouth. What should I be doing

to get my mouth to open other than trying to open it further each day. My

os didnt really advise on any physical therapy.

Hi Cammie, thanks for taking the time to be so informative about

retainers. Much appreciated.....It is good to be so close to getting

the braces off, its probably going to be March 04 for me but i can

wait. Take care, Annie x

No, I'm not that far yet. My splint doesn't come out for another 3 weeks and

there's a little more tweaking that needs to be done (see my next post). I've

just had such horrible experience with just about every impression so far...I

don't want to do that again...EVER! Oh, well (heavy sigh).

Re: Braces off Wednesday!!!!

Noooo, you won't die. And you wouldn't really rather keep the splint

and braces forever, honest.

Your doc and his techs will help you, and then you'll be free.

Besides, you're not that far along yet, are you, Smooches? I confess,

I lose track. But I had the surgery at the end of June and didn't get

free of the braces (the splint went off much earlier) until October.

I think it's rare that the braces come of as soon as 's are to.

Tony,

My OS told me today to start trying to open a little more. She told me a good

exercise to do is get a wooden clothespin, place it between the teeth and GENTLY

open and close it ten times...kind of forcing the mouth to open wider. She told

me to do this 3 times a day and my bite should open almost double by the time I

go for my next appt in 2 weeks.
