Guest guest
I would suggest that you stop eating that much tuna. Tuna is LOADED with mercury. I believe to stay below the toxic exposure limit, you can only eat one can of tuna every two weeks or something depending on your weight. http://www.gotmercury.org If you weigh 150, eating an average of 4oz of tuna (albacore) per day, you have had 580% times the EPA safe limit of mercury in the last week. Please consider going back to the intro diet. Add new foods slowly. Keep a food diary. Also, I have no idea what a REBAR is, but please consider discontinuing any food that is not homemade. May contain one or more of the following natural fruit concentrates: Raspberry, Strawberry, Blueberry, Blackberry, Grape . members may have suggestions for a homemade trail mix or energu snack. Guest guest
Funny this should come up - my 2 yr old ate one boiled shrimp (jumbo) this past weekend, and the next day he had two very large rash patches that he scratched until they bled. Didn't see any stool problems from the shrimp, but the rash had to been from it. I understand shrimp is high in mercury, too? Guest guest
Bottom feeders tend to be the highest in all heavy metals...also an allergenic food for many, like my youngest, his, in addition to heavy metals, is plain ol' shellfish allergy. Should your child have shellfish allergy, be careful eating fried foods in a restaurant. The oil used to cook shrimp could also be used to cook fried chicken or French fries. Carol F. SCD is not a weight loss or low calorie diet. It is for healing gastric diseases and helping with autism. Most of those who need it are underweight or nutritionally deprived. Are you sure this is the diet you need? I never ate a lot of garlic & onions as > well like I have now (sometimes too much to point I feel sick as I'm > eating it & need to eat a rebar to combat the nasuea). Rebar contains a number of illegal ingredients and is not approved for use on SCD. > I have developed a rash 2 weeks ago first on my chest that when I > didn't eat for almsot 24 hours healed up. It is difficult to determine whether these symptoms are a result of doing the diet incorrectly, a true food allergy or some inconsistent food sensitivities. > The past 2 weeks I have been eating a lot more canned tuna, about 3- > 5 ounces a day everyday. Tuna is high in mercury and not to be eaten so frequently. Eating a lot of raw food is not suitable until healing is well underway. Guest guest
Well, honestly, we don't even attempt to eat out - just too scary. These shrimp were prepared by my mother in law - just boiled. He was begging to try one (mainly because it was very obvious with all the holiday food around that everyone was eating stuff he couldn't eat) so I agreed to let him try 'one'. Definitely caused the rash tho. It wasn't spoiled shrimp tho - did you mean 'boiled' shrimp??? or spoiled?
