When anyone posts a question to rosacea-support, the replies go to that person but not to all the members. Those of us reading the board (or the digests) never see the answers.... and if I search the archives, mostly I see questions, not answers. How is a support group supportive if it only contains questions? Please do not reply to me... reply to the board. Perhaps there is some way to fix this problem. >> This is the only list I belong to that is set up the way it is. Below is another yahoogroups list I belong to that when you reply it automatically goes to the list. I'm assuming yahoogroups has to change what goes into " From " and add " Reply-to " , which is what is messing things up. Every time I reply to the list I have to cut and paste the rosacea-support addy. Does this list have a moderator? Guest guest
Don't know about the other email services but - with AOL there are 2 reply buttons. One is a " reply " just to the poster and the other is " reply all " . If I hit the reply button it isn't posted - gotta hit the reply all button. Guest guest
I think a lot of us are concerned about overloading everybody. But I agree with you; I'd love to see some answers to all that appear as posted questions. I also do what I just described above. But, also, recently, I see these postings from one person that say something like 'Digest # something or other " -- and I'm never sure what it means, except that it suggests that one should have memorized Dr. Nase's book and all the archival information on this site. Which I can't. So, it makes me less easy about posting 'public' responses. Worobec wrote: > Question? Guest guest
: The problem is that alot of people, including me, never obtain the new posts from the board, we simply reply directly from our e.mail, so the replies only go the the person posting the question. Another problem is the people who reply via the board, but forget to change the recipient in the " to " box at the top, so it goes only to the person posting the original message by default. I think the problem could be at least partially solved by the default in the " to " box becoming rosacea-support . -- In rosacea-support@y..., Worobec wrote: > Question? Guest guest
Hello, I am a new member here, I have Burning, Red Eyes, and Lids All day, I am really suffering, I have had this all my life, and I finally found this support group. Is there any hope. I have extreme sensitivities to: CHEMICALS, DETERGENTS, SUN, WARM ROOMS, SMOKE, AND Sensitivity to Light, AND Most Chemical Odors. My doctor has just diagnosed me as having OCULAR ROSACEA, since I have also had acne most of my life. Is there any relief for me from BURNING EYES & LIDS also at night,... because my eyes go through such suffering and pain all day.. when they are at rest at night.. THEY BEGIN TO " DRY OUT " and I wake up in the middle of the night with BURNING DRY EYES. Can someone please help. Thankyou, Rich
Guest guest
Errin, I have the same question. I think this is how it works: To send a message to the board it must go to rosacea-support If you hit the reply key to respond, the response only goes to the original sender of the message. If you want it to also go the board, you must add the rosacea-support > address as the second receiver of the message. Someone said you can also use " reply all " but this will only work if the yahoo address appears in the " To: " space on the message. I've sent this to both you (Errin) and to the board. Let's see if it works. Errin Hoffman wrote: > Hello- > I am a new member, and I believe I have been replying to the person versus > the board b/c I don't know how to the the latter. Guest guest
Rich, I'm not expert but it sounds like you have a bad case. I have a terrible time with heat, with sun, warm foods, chewing, and with anything I put on my face so I can empathize with how you must feel. Have you got Dr. Nase's book? It might help. You may also want to talk to your doctor about clonidine or moxonidine to calm your sympathetic nervous system. I hear that low dose accutane can give good relief from the burning. Refresh makes eye drops without preservatives. There are two kinds... the thicker one is good at night. Check your meds. Some can make rosacea worse. Also be on the lookout for foods and meds that dilate blood vessels or that have a lot of B vitamins. For example, some pasta is loaded with B vitamins and can make your skin burning hot. So can avocados and coffee. A food diary can help. Just write down everything you eat and write down how you feel. In time, some patterns may emerge. Keep your chin up, eat ice and continue to look for answers. Good luck. Dear Laurel, Can you please explain this procedure, " tear duct electro cauterization " what would happen in this procedure, and WHY would it benefit me, can you please explain why it would have a beneficial effect in my case, I am very glad that you have had improvement, I wish you the best of health, and hope you can help me further, I have never heard of this procedure, is it reversible ?? Is there any other treatment that I can try if this is not reversible,, that would be effective ? Thankyou very much, << Hi Warren, I have severe occular rosacea wih all of the syptoms you have described. I tried everything for years, and the only thing that has helped was having all 4 of my tear ducts electro-cauterized. I still have some sensetivities, but I would say I am 85% better, and I has changed my life for the better. << rosacea-support >>
Guest guest
Dear , Thankyou so much for your kind help, but almost any " eye drop " I put in my eyes seem to make things worse, is there help for me without eye drops ? , all my life I have wondered if all I have is just CHEMICAL SENSITIVITY THAT EFFECTS JUST MY EYES AND MAKES THEM BURN. Could it be just the Heat and Chemicals that is Effecting me, or is it true that I do have OCULAR ROSACEA, that is making my eyes so RAW & SENSITIVE, THAT when Any Chemical Odor or Fume or War AIR touches them they Burn ? Can you help me figure this out, Could the " Warm Air Sensitivity " be the Key ? Since Most people wouldn't get Burning Eyes from a simple Warm Room, is it actually the ROSACEA that is making my eyes & lids so sensitive that they are picking up any change of temperature, Chemical or anything that touches them ? Thankyou , I hope you can solve this question I have had for a long time. << Rich, I'm not expert but it sounds like you have a bad case. Guest guest
Same with me if I hit reply all it goes to everyone.
