Guest guest
> I was just wondering from one of the vets here if this diet is close to the > " Maker's Diet " ? Jenn & Kali 95% SCD 4 months Jenn and Kelli, why do you ask? From the little I know of The Maker's Diet, it has definite spiritual components, which would make a person feel more postive and peaceful. A good thing. I don't know all the foods on it but I did look at links on their website with mention of dairies that sell whey and buttermilk. We don't use those. The Makers Diet also lists grain. We don't use it. I didn't go further. SCD Guidelines were posted yesterday and appear every few weeks. This support group is about SCD for autism and also for those adults with gastric issues that have chosen to be here rather than on an adult group. Discussions and advertising of alternative diets, illegal foods, treatments that are not recommended, or other subjects that are not part of the science and practices of SCD are not allowed on the list. The basis of SCD is the science that advocates elimination of disaccharide carbohydrates and other substances that are indigestible for us. It is understandable that people are curious about other diets because we all eat food, There are bound to be commonalities with other diets and it gets confusing I did want to answer your query never the less. SCD is unique. There are some small amendments for the autism version. There is no advantage in " combining " SCD with other diets. No point. ( people are always asking about Weston Price, Atkins, GFCF and BED, to name only a few. (An exception does come to mind. Patty Dubrovic, who contributed greatly to this list had also used a Ketogenic diet for her daughter Katera who was prone to seizures and mentioned it a few times when asked. Ketosis would be dangerous for the population on this list.) Just yesterday, someone asked about our diet compared with or combined with the Bernstein Diet and it was suggested how SCD could be followed for diabetes. Sorting out all the differnces in diets would occupy losts of bandwidth and SCD would still remain the same. i hope I have been helpful without appearing critical. I think a little spirituality would be a good thing with any diet though! Carol F SCD 5 years, celiac Carol F.
Guest guest
Carol F., I was asking about the maker's diet because I knew this diet would beat any of them and I wanted to know what benefits you can get from this diet compared to the maker's diet. I am so confident that it is healing K so quickly on SCD that I would like to give my lady church member friend the differences in examples based on both diets. I just want to get her to try it. She is a pastor's wife. If the maker's diet contains whole grains and whey then, wouldn't the SCD be more realistic for GI issues and maybe gut bugs, yeast etc.? Although, I agree that we could all use some spirituality! Jenn & Kali 95% SCD 4 months Re: OT > > > I was just wondering from one of the vets here if this diet is close to the > > " Maker's Diet " ?
