be shorter with the lap. perhaps a group members with young kids

can give you a better idea. my 2 furry kids (great dane &

greyhound) instinctly knew to keep away, their ma was looking like a

Hi Rhonda,

What things do you use instead of dairy? Especially for milk, cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream?

Thanks,

Hi everyone,I joined this group about a month ago and I think it's about time Iintroduced myself. I'm not new to the allergy scene by any means - in fact,I feel like an old veteran. I have EAs and SAs and no other knownallergens, including food... (other than a really cranky belly related tosome foods, not really a *true* allergy). DH is anaphylactic to fish and hashis fair share of EAs and SAs. My DS, , has food allergies to milkand egg and we avoid fish due to his father's ana history to it. He also isallergic to penicillin, cats and beestings. He's on daily doses of Zyrtecand Singulair - just to get thru the day sometimes. He seems to be possiblyoutgrowing his allergy as he can tolerate small bits of milk protein hereand there (whey is no problem), however - we avoid it all to give him abetter chance of outgrowing it completely. He is in Kindergarten now andit's been a totally new experience but we've all adjusted well. My DD,, well - I have no clue what's going on with her. We avoid 5 of themajor allergens with her, we know that soy, wheat and peanuts (bad mommy!)are ok but other than that we're clueless. She's also on Zyrtec. She hasbroken out in hives due to a reaction to something on the grocery cart. Veryfrustrating, but that's when we decided to never leave home withoutsomething to cover the cart.Well, I suppose that's it. Just wanted to say Hi to . :) I'm active(or semi-active) on other FA boards so some of you might have seen me hereor there. I look forward to reading this board and getting to know everyoneand sharing our experiences and learning from others.Rhonda in AZ 6/18/98 milk egg fish 11/8/01 avoiding 5 major allergens; wheat soy and peanuts are ok

Hey Rhonda. Welcome. I've been busy and haven't posted here in quite

a long time. I'll post what's been going on with me on the daily

thread.

For everyone else, Rhonda is an amazing source of information. She

helped me out a lot when we were first learning about Ethan's

allergies. She knows more than most of the " Dr's " out there.

Welcome Rhonda! I too belong to couple of other groups, but like this one best. I like that we are a small, so therefore close, group. Welcome Rhonda!

Sorry I'm late in getting to your email. I've been swamped over here trying

to get a costume ready for Halloween in addition to the normal day to day

stuff.

I hope you can find out what is wrong with ! My was allergic

to dairy and outgrew it in about 2 years. He had his first reaction at six

weeks of age, but wasn't diagnosed until he was four. Sounds like you have

a good chance that will outgrow his allergy! I think ours would

have cleared faster if my MIL would have followed our " rules " of no dairy

(she told my SIL that it was all a bunch of garbage and gave him stuff on

purpose to try to prove us wrong).

Drew, 7.5 years, anaphylactic to peanuts, allergic to dogs, environmental

allergies, severe eczema, outgrown dairy!

Mattie, 5 years, no known allergies

, 15 months, no known allergies but avoiding all nuts until she is much

older!

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I must have skipped my

reply for some reason! Who knows! ;) Anyway, welcome to the board!

I'll give you a better run-down of us in a soon and coming email! ;)

I'm trying to get switched over to my outlook account so I can have

more freedom in my replies, but so far, I haven't been able to get it

set up.

Nope. You'll be the same person you were before -- sweet if you're

sweet, and nasty if you're nasty.

But you will have a face and mouth that work better for you, and I'm

guessing that will be something you'll enjoy more than you can

imagine.

Here's to good wishes for you. I hope you get a not-too-far-off

appointment, and have an easy trip through the surgery!

Hi Newbie!

Well, it's not often I read of someone from the Philadelphia area.

I'm right around the corner from where you attend college. I'm

in Exton.

I had upper, lower and genio a year ago. Doing fine but lingering

numbness is slow to go away in the bottom lip area. Care to share

who your surgeon is?

Best of luck with your upcoming surgery.
