Hello Jenette

What reason did Tony give for a leaking port. Don't worry about the local

etc, as we all know he is very gentle and would not do any thing to hurt

you. Which hospital are you going to.

There is no way I'm hopeing on his new scales when I see him at the end of

the month, especially if they are those ones that mesure your fat percent[i

can't remember the the name of them] they add about 4 or 4 kilos, I can

speak from experiance as they have them at the gym.

I know everything will go well for you on Monday.

Leaking

Hi Everyone...

Well,I have sprung a leak....so to speak...lol... after lots of listening

and ups and downs and ending up with less than expected in my band my

Doc..has talked me(worlds biggest chicken)into a look with only

local..(eek)around the port site to see if he can fix it,on Monday..so today

all the fluid is out..and my evil twin keeps whispering naughty things in my

ear which I will try to ignore...I have burped a couple of times today which

I didn't realise that I missed(sorry)

I don't think he is planning to replace anything and we will be able to chat

while he has a look,is that a nice thought or what?

Oh and he introduced me to his nice new scales... " which tell the truth " he

said..but I declined meeting them...I liked the old oned who lied..Ha

Well enough said...... keep well all

Jenette

Hi Vicky, I'll be there on Saturday so will see you then. At the moment

all I want to do is cry. Why do these things always happen at the worst

moments - work problems too.

Regards

Leaking

How awful, I've never had that problem. But I know Dianne has.

Are you coming to the meeting on Saturday ???

If not good luck for Monday.

Maybe crying is better than eating, they say you feel better after a cry

because of the endorphins being released. Where's eating makes us feel good,

then guilty for being weak.

But who knows.

,

So sorry to hear of your woes. What a bugger. My port was side on

and was hard to get to at times but I never had a complete no go.

Looks like you are having a bit of a bad week, we'll attempt to cheer

you up a bit on Saturday. Looks like a good turn up is expected.

Sue has the wine and I am going out for more tomorrow. Pity about

having to drive....darn it.

Hope you have a better day today and tomorrow.

Regards,

Cath

Hi Jeanette,

All the best for the leak fix next week. I really hope for your sake

that he can fix it that simply. Quite a few of the troops have had

to have them replaced completely.

Good luck and I hope it isn't too uncomfortable.

Hi

I have had approximately 5 attempts at having a fill

done. Each attempt lasts at least 30 minutes and has

at least 20 tries with " needle in, needle out " . The

one and only time the needle went into the port it

turned out my port was busted and had to be

replaced..lol. My doc has said that swelling and scar

tissue round the port sight can make it difficult.

I was banded in May this year and have yet to have a

successful fill.

My only advice is to bear with it, don't give up and

keep on trying (says she who still has puncture marks

from last week and is going to try again next week

lol).

All the best for Monday.

Hi

Firstly it was great to finally meet you on Saturday.

I have already sent an email about my problems so I'm sorry if this bores

everyone else.

I went to the Dr on 6/9 he tried about 4 times and couldn't get the needle

into the port, he was hitting it because I could feel it scraping on

something, so he then sent me to x-ray where the other Dr said that he could

see that the port was facing straight up but for some reason he too had

trouble getting the needle in. Finally about 20 minutes later and many, many

jabs later he managed to put 1ml into my band. I'm not anxious to go back

for another fill!!!.....not for a while anyway.

I only arrived home late yesterday (Sunday) so I know by the time you get

this it will all be over, but Good Luck with Monday. I hope everything goes

well for you.

Regards

I am extremely depressed and sore today. I went for my second fill

yesterday and after a couple of goes in the surgery, then down to X-Ray

kept hitting it, because the needle bent, but just could not find the

rubber...so I am back to see him on Monday for another go. I am very

concerned, as for my first fill, it was all done in a matter of minutes.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Would be grateful for anyone else's experiences.

Thanks
