Women's Retreat in FL

Hi ladies,

We are still on to have a Women's Retreat weekend in Tampa, FL the weekend

of October 13. This is for ladies (with HSP or PLS), only. Hubbies or

other

family or friends can come but need to find other things to do while we are

doing our thing.

We'll be staying at the Best Western Hotel about 3 miles from the Tampa

airport. The hotel provides shuttle service.

We have overnight rooms for a price of $75 each. Some of us are willing to

share a room so be sure to let me know if you want to share. I'm sharing

with Ann. The hotel has 2 handicapped accessible rooms. Donna will take

one so

there is still one more available to our group. Please don't take one

unless you really need it.

We're going to start our Weekend with a Friday night dinner at the hotel

restaurant. We'll each pay for our own meal. It will be a wonderful

evening of

meeting everyone, sharing stories, good food, laughing and maybe even a

little Chardonny. We may have a special program.

Saturday will be our big Retreat day. I'll work with the hotel to figure

out pricing for the meeting room, materials, breakfast, lunch and afternoon

snack. That will be your Registration price to attend (check made out to

SPF).

I think it will be around $55. That depends upon how many people attend.

Tawny (has PLS) is a former clinician and is taking the lead on the

Saturday

agenda. We think we'll combine some meaty sessions with fun fluff stuff to

feel good and have fun, like maybe massage, exercises, pool, etc. Tawny

plans to put together a survey to find out what topics are most important

to us

so we can build it around that.

We'll come up with a fun plan for Saturday evening and people who want to

join in will pay for that there.

Sunday we'll have breakfast together with great chat time and then do a

TeamWalk as part of the TeamWalk effort. I'm not sure if we'll do that

from the

hotel lobby or go over to a park that's a few miles away and do it there.

I'll open the TeamWalk to anyone in our community who wants to join the

TeamWalk with us - more funds for research!

So, please let me know if you want to attend. The Registration price will

change a bit with more people, as we have to share the cost of the meeting

room.

best,

Kathi

cool, I marked my calendar as i would love to attend.

In 2004 when I thought I had MS, there was a MS gathering of ppl from online

here at Disney World. I spent the day with them, had a great time. Saw many

different " levels " of MS. At that time I was still only using crutches for

walking all day. Interesting how the ppl with MS kept wondering why on

earth no neuro would dx me and treat me. They saw how things went with me

thru the day. They too were open to me coming although I had no definite dx

of MS, just possible back then.

LOL Maybe one day if I keep going to retreat/gatherings of different neuro

issues I will find the one i fit into LOL.

Well, of course! If it walks like a duck, it may very well be a duck and

you certainly have the same concerns.

Let me know! Where do you live? Do you absolutely need a handicapped room?

Donna has one and Lois has one, so that's our 2. But I think one might be

willing to share if someone else must have one.

Kathi
