Guest guest
Hi . I have had this for a few months now....more so as time goes on. My P.T. says it is a group of muscles becoming spastic and they go into a bit of a rigid grip.....sometimes i cough....but more, it restricts my taking a deep breath. When it happens. I sit at the table and put a pillow infront of me. Then I bring my arms up on the pillow..arms in a 'V' so my hands touch in the middle, and lay my chin on my hands,...slightly leaning forward. This opens up the chest muscles. Make sure your shoulders are dropped and relaxed. Then try to breathe deeply and slowly into your 'tummy'....in other words...as deep as you can. After 5 or 10 mins...I feel it relaxing a bit. Might help. Hugs. Guest guest
Yes...it is the PLS spasticity....not everyone gets it in their chest....but I do...and I know some others that do too. Most important thing...don't panic if breathing gets tough....try that position I suggested. It really does help! Another tip: DON'T GO WITHOUT A BRA! It makes it worse! Hugs! Guest guest
Hi , No...nothing in particular triggers this chest muscle tightness...at least not with me. Except when I walk around without a bra....yes...I know this is a crushing blow for most women. But the days of coming home and flinging my bra in the corner are over. But...I have had to by a bra that is a bit wider around the chest than usual...and expandable. But when i lay down I can take it off! That is some compensation! I know it is tough not to panic when this happens though. It helps me knowing that I can get into that table/pillow position and get some relief.By the way...about -4 here. Chilly...but nothing like our usual southern Alberta winters ....thank goodness. We didn't get much snow this year...weird! Hugs .
