Have you tried a walker with wheels?

Yes, I do have one. If I can mentally get over having to use it I know the

walker will help. I did take it last month to the mall and it came in handy. I

just didnt like the staring-but it is better then falling.

I agree the staring does get to you at first but when you find how

great it is, the stares are like water off a ducks back.

hey gary,

i'm going through the same thing so i sympathize. just

in the last wk i crossed over to the walker and am

realizing it's worth the stares (maureen's right). i

have braces too and was struggling w/the cane and

finally decided h*@l with it. still use the cane in

the house (and the walls ) and take the walker out.

i'm w/you though; it's hard mentally. i think it makes

people feel uncomfortable/awkward no matter what, but

esp. if you're younger.

basketball game against UNC the other night? that's

all anyone in raleigh has been talking about.

Hi . I am 48 and started using the walker when I was 46. Its

hard at first when you start using it but I wouldnt be without it

now. It has changed my lifestyle for the better.

exactly!!! a duke for a duke;-) i'm heading over there

tomorrow to look at augmentive communication devices.

should be interesting.

my daughter is crazy for soccer too; she is 8 and is

about ready to start her spring season (she plays in

fall and spring at the YMCA). i played basketball so

i'm pretty clueless about the rules and positions but

am learning. i love watching her.
