Guest guest
Talking about speech most of us that have problems don't talk enough. I find that if I shout really loud it will simulate then. Now I'm alone here in the house during the day so I don't alarm anyone. But stretching those muscle is important I think. .................flora
Guest guest
The first word that found difficult to utter was-- February. Can anyone say " February February February February " --(4 times) fast/reasonably fast? I can't...... even onetime. Jagan
Guest guest
Hi Jagan, those tongue twisters and the word February are sometimes very hard even for the normal healthy person to say. I got my husband to say them and he found it harder than I did! But then I was always good at tongue twisters. I tried it with February and was able to repeat it 4 times but not clearly, as February has always been a bit of a hard word for me. Guest guest
Any word beginning with a, e, i, o, u is Always Easy In Our Utterances! Consonants followed by another consonant is-- I THink is not THat difficult. But a Consonant followed by two like SCHool is troublesome. Iscool is ok! (& in the case of " S " - one consonant " SPare " is enough to trouble me) When I think or speak what I say is clear 'inside " me. I recorded a few words in my computer's sound recorder. When I replyed I knew how bad it was!!! No point in finding fault with those who think that I am an IDIOT & instinctively aviod talking to me.................... Guest guest
Jagan, I find the words six, sixty or sixteen, the hardest to say. The letter " S " is very hard for me sometimes but when followed by " i " , forget it!! And its so annoying because I have to say the number 6 so many times as its in my birthdate and my husbands and our phone humber. You know when you have to ring a company etc and due to privacy laws (well in australia that is) they ask for all that info. Guest guest
hmmm...maybe if I couldn't say cheeseburger and chocolate I wouldn't need to lose weight! We're all so different, most of what people are describing they have trouble saying, I don't, but when I say " normal " the " mal " doesn't sound totally normal. ;-) Plus, I think it's all in my head, but when the phone rings, I just can't seem to get out " hello " ...any other time I have no problem saying it so I normally answer good morning -- then a lot of people assume I'm still in bed...if it's morning. It it's my husband calling (I can tell by Caller ID) then I just say " hi " .
Guest guest
I have a hard time saying " ch " words and the like. Last night we went to fast food and my wife left the ordering to me, as she went to the bathroom. She wanted tacos and a chocolate oreo shake I wanted a cheese burger. I ended up ordering 4 tacos and couldnt say cheeseburger so I didnt get one. As my wife tasted the oreo shake (without the chocolate-- couldnt say it) she got mad at the cashier for leaving it out. woops-my fault I had to apologize. But she shouldnt have left it for me to say. gary nc Jagan jagancaca@...> wrote: Any word beginning with a, e, i, o, u is Always Easy In Our Utterances! Guest guest
Hi , I find the same helps for me. I can say " hello " and talk well on the phone, only I sound like I have imbibed, but if I dont say " yes Hello " to someone that I have rung, I am useless. I think that " yes " is an easy word to say and therefore it settles the nerves, and sets you on the right course to be able to speak reasonably well. If I start talking unclear, then I get nervous and go from bad to worse. Maureen(australia) > > Same problem here...I used to never answer the phone because I cant say hello.
