Ankle/feet swelling

Hi,

Well, in the past I had a test that showed my TSH as too low so I

voluntarily reduced my dosage. Then after joining this list and learning

about the suppressed TSH, I was able to increase my dosage by 30 mg. I did

fine on that. However, I wondered if I should experiment on increasing even

more. After my last test which showed my TSH as too low, (which was just

prior to adding the 30 mg.), my doctor wanted me to go back to the endo.

The endo doesn't take my insurance any more so I " ve delayed doing that. In

the meantime, I've run out of extra pills so I had to reduce back to 150 mg.

a day. I've noticed my ankles and feet are swelling significantly more and

they don't completely go down by the time I get up in the morning. I also

have the swelling around my eyes, bottom outer edge of eyes. I hate that. I

do have fatty liver and have had recent elevated ALT and AST enzymes. I'm

supposed to see a specialist about this but haven't yet. I don't know if

these liver problems would influence swelling or not. I know some kind of

liver problems can.

I'm also about to call the pharmacist who manages my progesterone, estrogen

and testosterone. I've felt I need an increase in all three from the

symptoms I'm still having. But I sense that increasing the progesterone

might help this swelling.

I've decided to look for DO's who might be willing to manage my thyroid by

going by free T3 and free T 4 levels rather than TSH. I wrote to two so

far. One isn't taking new patients and the other moved back to Arizona! So I

just haven't gotten back to checking any more. There is an endo DO but he's

in another city, farther than I want to travel.

I thought I'd share and see if anyone has any comments that might be

helpful!

Thanks for listening!

in Va.
