>>I feel taking that much

adrenal support and ferritin should have helped more than it did. <<

Did you retest these two things to SEE what it did? I would highly recommend

getting the saliva tests from ZRT for your adrenal problems which looked as

though they might be severe. OTC adrenal glandulars are an unknown quantity of

actual adrenal hormones, perhaps you need cortisol direct instead of just the

glandulars? Your Ferritin should also be retested.

You don;t need a doctor to write a prescription for the test. You can order it

online and they send the materials to you and you send the saliva samples back

then they will send you the test results.

, Thank you for the offer. I don't think it will work for me

as ZRT already sent saliva test to me in California. However, for

anyone else out there in CA or NY, it would be so helpful.

In 1999 my neck was very enlarged. long story short, I ended up at an ENT. He

said that he expected that I would need a portion of my thyroid removed. He said

the swelling had been the nodules bursting. I had a thyroid ultrasound. then -

I was so angry with my regular dr. that I never went back, and my new dr wasn't

much better. Here we are in 2004, and I got a copy of my ultrsound report and my

new doctor says, yes, your thyroid was very large, and about the nodules etc. so

she sent me for another ultrasound last week.

My thyroid is now normal sized with no nodules. The tech said that it is quite

common for thyroid nodules and enlargement to disappear once treated.

so - just as a personal experience - I never had the surgery they told me that I

might need, and mine is now 'normal' (altho I can still feel that it is enlarged

more than it used to be).

I didn't know anything back then, and would have had it removed, if they would

have pushed me to do it, but my doctor was still telling me it wasn't my thyroid

- it was a throat infection, and that I just had to accept that I had CFS and

Chronic Fatigue and get on with my life - duh

Thyroid Nodule Surgery

Saw my endo last week. He felt my neck, said the nodule has doubled

in size, and told me he was referring me to a surgeon-just like

that. He got up to leave, saw my mouth drop, and said on the way

out, " What's up? " I want to explore all options and alternatives

before surgery. What should I do?

well - to be honest, I don't know much except that I was eventually put on

synthroid, but that wasn't even right away. I just had an ultrasound again, and

I have nodules, but my thyroid itself is supposedly normal size now. My dr.

isn't concerned about the nodules - they are small. They do suspect that I had

nodules that burst the first time - prior to the first ultrasound. I would just

ask them to wait and monitor it for a while to see what happens. I suspect that

if I was to become optimally treated, mine would calm down more.

Thanks for your story. How did they treat your nodule that

made it shrink?
