Guest guest
Hi everyone! I cannot believe how far I have come in such a short time. I am talking specifically about all the knowledge in PTC and Chiari Malformations. In the last month I have been able to research and ask all kinds of questions about Chiari because of all of you! I sincerely appreciate your reading and responding to my posts. Without the info. here I would still be being treated for PTC and nothing more. It definitely helps to have a group of knowledgeable and experienced people. I have been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation type I with 8-9mm herniation as well as some hydrocephalus. Dr. Koeleveld in Raleigh, NC will be doing my surgery on the 18th. I have checked out his credentials as well as talked to other patients that he has performed the decompression surgery on. He has been very honest and has welcomed any questions. He is hoping that the decompression surgery will take care of the hydrocephalus but if it doesn't he will also be puttin in a VP shunt in my third ventricle. I am praying that I don't need this but if I do that is okay. I am ready to get this over with! Thanks again for your help and when I am able I will be sure to post and let everyone know about the surgery. Also, I have seen several posts recently from people in NC. Dr. Robin Koeleveld is on the recommended list and the practice he is with does have a website with their phone number and his credentials and other info. Here is the website for anyone interested: www.raleighneurosurgical.com I hope to report good news soon. Thanks & God Bless! Beth
