Guest guest
I mourned food at first. Probably for a few months. But now I can eat everything everyone else eats, just in a smaller portion. I had turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, a roll and pie. I eat on a salad plate with a childs fork! And I eat slowly and try to remember to savor each bite. You will be able to enjoy food again. It just takes time for your tummy to heal. : ) Lap Vertical Gastrectomy 8/06 286/190/
Guest guest
I understand where you are coming from there. Most of my family complained today that they had eaten too much and I ate just enough and was satisfied. In years past, I would have kept up with them, but now I ate most of what they ate, but with much smaller portions and let them overeat for me. Lhsh@... American by birth, Saved by the grace of God. mourning food.. hi, heather saw your post. well the day was nice. 10 days out of surgury. today i went to my sisters n sat at the table with my 3 ounces of food. yea i might be mourning....... but i,m sure not MOANING N GROANING like others who over ate.. lol .... yea it looked good, but i was trully ok with it n for that i am thankful,,, c ya donna -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
Wow, ! 96 pounds in 3 months?? That's the most dramatic loss I've heard of so far. Great job!!! So how did you happen to decide on the vertical gastrectomy over the lap band or the roux-en-y? --Cat > > I mourned food at first. Probably for a few months. Guest guest
Thats what I did too... I put like a teaspoon of mashed potatoes and stuffing, one little yam, a couple of black olives and a slice of turkey and i couldn't finish it THANK GOD! I LOVE WLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was done with dinner before everyone else so I had time to watch how I used to eat once and talk more ... not that I was gawking, just recognizing the difference OMG I could have cried when I thought about it. One Thanksgiving down and proud of the outcome. Lin Hunnicutt lhsh@...> wrote: I understand where you are coming from there. Guest guest
Hi, Cat. I feel so dumb. I had my surgery in 2005, LAST YEAR. Opps! I have to type out my siggy each time, and I goofed. I felt 100% within a month of my surgery. The hard part was showering. It's so hard to bend. But it was sooooooo worth it.
