Guest guest
Pardon the pun, but our society is WAY too anal about potty training. Penny :/ Re: Need advice - a bit long Tina, Don't let these well-meaning people give you a headache. We, too, took forever to " get " toilet training. Guest guest
is almost 3 1/2 and believe it or not, I just switched to cloth diapers. Not because of the expense of disposable, but because I thought they looked cool, and would help hold up his pants! LOL! I'm using the Bumkins. Now, if this kid decides to potty train in the next couple months, I'm going to be REAL ticked off! And yes, I do need a psychiatrist's appointment! :-) ellen Re: Need advice - a bit long Tina, Don't let these well-meaning people give you a headache. Guest guest
Come up with several very simply stated articles that describe autism in ways that will relate to what they see in Mark. Then have another article available that will explain to them why he can't just be treated more 'harshly' and suddenly be 'cured'. They don't know enough about it yet to understand you are doing what is right for your child. Hugs, Sue

Guest guest
First off, you're not alone. There are thousands of us out here, and a couple hundred right here. Yes it sucks when people don't understand autism. Especially when our own spouses don't get it. I'm afraid all you can do is keep plugging away and providing them with information with the hope that some day they'll get it. Big hugs to you, Sue
