Guest guest
I'm pregnant for the first time and concerned how my celiac disease will affect my pregnancy. I've already got gluten accidentally - does this mean since my intestines were damaged and I'm not absorbing nutrients that the baby is not getting any nutrients either??? Any advice would be great. Thanks, Christal __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Christal, My symptoms began at the end of my 8th pregnancy. I went all the way through my 9th pregnancy before diagnosis. Both babies were fine....big and healthy (10lbs 6oz and 9lbs 5oz). What I did notice was that labor/delivery was more difficult for me. I didn't have the same energy and stamina as for previous births. I just had my 10th baby in April. I was GF during the pregnancy. He was also big and healthy (9lbs 12oz) and I had plenty of energy for laboring. Recovery was much faster too. I didn't feel so wiped out. I would advise being as careful as possible with your diet, but don't stress about the occassional glutening. It happens sometimes. > I'm pregnant for the first time and concerned how my celiac disease will affect my pregnancy.
