Hi ,

I am eating pretty healthy actually. Whole grains, complex carbohydrates, lots

of fruits and vegetables, and so on.

I think now, after I weighted myself last, that my brain is plying with me. I

say this because I lost 2 lb and I didn't do anything different that I did

before. Actually, on the contrary, I had more food and even some sweets. So, I

think that I need to relax, do my exercise and wait for my body to respond.

Yeah, right! Like I can stop being so neurotic... But I will try!!

Also, I love to cook and tis dieting thing was keeping me from my kitchen and I

was not very satisfied with it. So, I am back to the kitchen baking and cooking.

But now, when I make something, I divide it, take a small part for me and hubby

(he also needs to shed some pounds) and the rest I bring to work! People love

it!

Hugs

Re: Re: Trouble with weight? Maritza, girlfriend...!

Here's my question: besides the chocolate, what are you eating over the

course of a normal day? Have you tried switching your regular flours (like

bread, pastas), to whole grains? Have you included plenty of vegetables and

fruits?

I find sometimes I can just " think " about eating that Almond Joy (!!) and

feel its resting on my butt. It's definitely something with the metabolism

relating to menopause. I also have the tamoxifen to deal with, along with

Lupron shots shutting down my little estrogen factory. If you have a good

insurance plan, get yourself some counseling with a nutritionist. I'm sure your

oncologist will refer you. My husband did for high cholesterol, and he lost 22

lbs s l o w l y ... the way we're supposed to. Instead of starving himself,

he learned different choices to make relating to food. Brown rice, whole

grain breads, crackers, etc. We limit his intake of red meat, cheese, but

everything in moderation. Most of the manufacturers now even make tostito-type

chips in whole grain. Read your labels, venture down the organic/natural

aisle. You don't have to eat twigs and sticks to stay slim!!!

You're doing everything you should, especially by working out. Continue

what you're doing, feel good about yourself and realize being pencil-thin is not

healthy. Maybe you need to focus on (5) lbs. at a time, instead of

overwhelming yourself with " I have to lose 25 lbs!! " You're adding muscle mass

by

working out, which weighs more than fat by the way. Also remember, women in

studies who workout, have higher survival rates than women who are sedentary.

Look... you've come a long way, BABY...find the beauty inside yourself and

you'll shine!!!

Best,
