This breast milk gluten debate is such an interesting thread- of

course, it is never going to be relevant to me because as the

potential mom, I'm not going to consume gluten, tee hee... But

still, very interesting.

Regarding the earlier comment re: brain damage- When I was diagnosed

at Children's Hospital in 1979, there was a case of a girl who had

been an undiagnosed celiac for a long period of time, and her brain

had been starved and suffered damage. So, it is possible in rare

circumstances, but I can't believe someone would say something like,

oh, celiac, the brain damage disease. People are such jerks

sometimes! Funny how they'll fixate on one rare side effect and

define the disease to themselves that way...

I can Oh-So-Easily see how it would happen!

I didn't have seizures until my late 30s.

Migraine with aura, yes. But not seizures.

And then, suddenly, the seizures.

Guess what - a few short years later, a diagnosis of celiac.

Hmmmmmmm.

Having all that insidious damage go on inside us can lead to ALL

kinds of nasty effects: Lymphoma, seizures, depression, muscle

and joint pains, exhaustion, trouble clotting, and more.

It's really NOT hard to understand the brain damage effect AT ALL.

And I don't consider myself rare. I consider myself one

of the lucky ones. I'd already suffered trouble clotting and

seizures and more. It could have been MUCH worse.
