I have done this several times before with someone certified. If I have been constipated for a while due to cross contamination it's one of the only things that gets me back on the right track. There are some risks of course, so do your own research. __________________________________________________

As a gastroenterologist told me..."I have been there, and there isn't any old debris" (in other words, he does several colonoscopies a week and sees only clean, clear colons) I actually think it's a waste of money, and some of the things they recommend putting in there can be harmful. If you're really backed up, do a clear water enema. Why would not absorbing your food for all these years affect your colon? mbastone@... wrote: Hi Michele, I have a few friends that have had it done. I

went on line to the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy and found some one near me who does it. I have a bunch of questions to ask. I am torn on whether their is any "old" matter in the colon. Half of me thinks no and the other half thinks maybe. I can't help but think that after not absorbing my food for 34 years this couldn't hurt. I worry about them tearing my colon or some other type of side effect. I haven't read a ton about risks, but I have heard a lot of people say it's risky, and really, I would just say that to anyone about any procedure because I don't want anyone to think just because I had a good experience they will as well. You can try googling it, I'm sure that would show all types of info (some more reliable than others, true).Best of luck,Ciara

Sneak preview the all-new Yahoo.com. It's not radically different. Just radically better.

I just got back from the Pharmacy. My doctor Prescribed Ciprofloxacn and I've taken the first dose. I have an appointment on Friday to see her (this was an already made appointment), if there is no improvement she will do a colonoscopy(looking forward to that.) I wonder if Xifaxan is similar to Cipro??I'll check it out on the web and maybe mention it to the doctor Friday. Thanks for your response. Michele 7. Re: colon cleanse Posted by: "wendy pandolfo" pandolfo@... pandolfo.rm Tue Jun 27, 2006 9:23 am (PST) Sorry you're so miserable. You might ask the doctor about the drug Xifaxan. It is for travelers diaherra, but has been used successfully in people with irritable bowel and other mystery gi problems. Do a websearch for it and see what you think.
