I know I was so happy when quit smoking. A few months after we moved

into this house, 's dad came to visit. At that time he was still smoking.

Once he went back home, it took me weeks to get the cigarette smell out of

the house, especially his bedroom.

Before he came to visit again, he had stopped smoking. He had bad

circulation in his legs. He went to a different doctor. That doctor told him

to quit

smoking or not come back to see him. He never smoked another cigarette. He

was in his 80's at the time. He has just celebrated his 94th birthday,

still lives alone in a retirement center. Walks up and down the steps twice a

day for his meals.

I don't know since it is the reaction with the glucophage and the blood pressure

medicine that is the concern. Usually all the blood pressure medicines say you

can't use anything of an antihistamine, and it does say to contact a physician

before using anything. I can use tylenol, but am not supposed to use very much

of it.

The stuff I have is called Diabetic Tussin put out by lcp products. comes

in DM cough suppressant, and a bunch of other types of dietic cough supp.and

expectorants. It also comes in an allergy relief and a Nasal-ease

Moisturizing Spray with Zinc . I'm sure not all stores carry all types, so

you have to look around. Also last winter when I had this bad cough, I was

taking wrong cough med for the type cough I had and it was making it worse.

So when I got the right one, it was much better. The package I have in my

hand is the suppressant expectorant and it says on the side: sugar free,

alchol free, sodium free, fructose free, sorbital free, codiene free, and

dye free. It relieves coughs, sooths throat irritation and relieves chest

Well here is my resolution and I started it 3 days before the New Year.

Walk on my treadmill daily for at least 20 - 20 minutes

So far I have met this goal.... first two days I did 20 minutes, the second

two days I did about 30-35 minutes. I get on with my mp3 player and listen

to songs as I walk.... I usually go through about 6 - 8 songs depending on

the length and they have some pep to them ... Spanish pop is what I listen

to a lot of. And since starting this I have noticed my bs numbers improving

winter weather advisory and I just received my phone call that my school is

closed for today.... YES.. no work today!! I am excited about having a day

off.
