That can cause lumps and when you stop eating/drinking the things with caffeine it goes away. I have never in my 16yrs heard of a female with bc at the age of 16. Hang in there. She is 36 now and has no breast cancer. I had a walnut-sized fibrous, benign tumor taken out at age 22 and another one in the same breast at age 24. I now have DCIS (non-invasive stage 0 breast cancer), but it's in the OTHER breast, and I am 37. About 10 years ago I had a large lump that everyone, including my GP, could feel. One week later, I went to have a mammogram and it had disappeared entirely. You couldn't feel it or see it on the film. They said that estrogen, related to my menstrual cycle, caused a temporary lump to form. So do not panic. There are many causes for breast lumps, even ones that grow rapidly. My daughter who is getting ready to become a little woman has led me to some reading on puberty. It's not uncommon for these young girsl to have lumps as their little bodies are changing to rapidly. Hope it turns out to be that. Guest guest Posted September 28, 2006 Report Share Posted September 28, 2006 i'm so sorry to hear that, and i want to let you know that you and your daughter are in my prayers, i'm just 18 and on sept.14 i just had two lumps removed from my left breast but by the grace of god both were benign, they were just two tumors that are pretty common in youg teenage girls, they're called fibroabdenomas and i'm just praying that, that's all it is. It was a beautiful and calm passing for him, but so hard on the rest of us. Know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
