Guest guest
See, there you went and hit on something..... when I set up portion sizes.. like the cupcakes today... I determine I can have this much of the batter (I actually calculated nutritional content/calories on my recipes) to make a mini meal size portion (for total calories) then I cut the recipe to that number of pieces.... So it could be set up that way.. this total recipe contains XX number of calories... once you determine whether it will be an entire mini meal or a dessert, you can cut to that portion size suitable for your calories... Does that make sense to anyone other than me?? If one meal is 'over' what it should be, either the meal before or after (or sometimes both) is a bit less, to compensate... but I try not to skip meals.. even if it's only to have a few bites of bread to keep my body convinced that food is aplenty and there is no reason to make fat..... Okay.. I'll let that whirl in my brain for a while.... Thanks Spiff... Topper () On Mon, 18 Sep 2006 16:43:14 -0700 (PDT) DerSpiff writes: I don't think it's overthinking, it's trying to be thorough. What I think might help is, here's the recipe, here's how much it makes/portion size, and how many calories it contains, give or take for starters. And what can be used as replacements, say can you put pork or tuna or beef in for chicken or turkey? Since I can't eat any fowl, then the replacements would work great for me. Just a few ideas from my end of things. Spiff

Guest guest
really gonna look for that pole now! chocolate peanut butter rules! spifftopper2@... wrote: By way of incentive... today I'll be doing the chocolate peanut butter frosting that goes on the peanut butter cupcakes that I baked yesterday (they are already frozen, so the icing goes on quick, the frosting tops freeze super fast and then can be bagged again).. and I did a huge batch of my rice gnocchi... a bunch of those are already in the freezer, with a big chunk of dough in the fridge that I'll make into dumplings tomorrow.. dumpling and pasta making are GREAT for doing while watching TV.. keep your hands busy while watching TV and yummy food stashed to show that you did something and weren't just sloughing off! hehehehee Tomorrow, other than making dumplings and laying them out on trays to freeze... I don't think I'm doing any kitchen stuff... unless I get a bug up my nether regions and make some baked donuts for the freezer... Thursday I'll be making a batch of turkey burger Salisbury steaks, with gravy, and freezing those in portions for the freezer... I want to get a good stash of stuff made up this week... cuz, if weather permits... I'm hauling a puter out on the deck every day that I can and I don't want to have to mess with cooking when I want to be outside.... not that much nice weather anymore... and I want to take advantage of this week being cool and wet and next week being nicer and dry (unless they change their minds, the weather gods, of course! heheh) Topper () On Tue, 19 Sep 2006 08:55:56 -0700 (PDT) DerSpiff <mzspiff (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> writes: .......mmmmmmthinkin on that....I'll get back to ya Spiff ( looking for her fishing pole.......)
