Guest guest
>Hi Jill: I'm on the old-fashioned tamoxifen because I only became menopausal with the chemo, and so the aromatase inhibitors could cause my ovaries to start making some estrogen. In another year or so I will be a candidate for switching. But in anticipation of that decision I've asked around and read a little, and from what I understand Aromasin is somewhat better for the bones, but it has a somewhat different side-effect profile from the Arimidex and Femara, etc. It apparently is somewhat androgenic, meaning it has a male-hormone (testosterone) like- effect. So some women might have some facial hair or weight gain. If you have osteoporosis the Aromasin is thought to be the way to go. Good luck, Anne V. > > My Arimidex prescription is up for renewal and I'm thinking of changing to Aromasin, which my oncologist has offered as an alternative. The reason I'm thinking of switching is the bone/joint pain I've experienced with Ariximidex. If anyone on the list has had experience with Aromasin, would you please let me know how you've done on it? Have you experienced side effects? Thanks, in advance, for any advice you might send my way. > > Jill > >
