Guest guest
Great news Uncle Timmy, Glad things are going so good for you hope you continue to recover every day and are able to start enjoying you active life as a newer person very soon... Take care of yourself RoseUncle Timmy wrote: Hey guys! Just got back from the body sculptor's. The non-permanent sutures were removed and the incisions debraded and redressed. Everything's progressing well. No unexpected complications (other than the "Percocet euphoria" I had the first week post-op. That'll ease up quickly, now that I'm off the narcotics.)I do have the expected effects of numbness around the incisions (That can last six months or more!) and abdominal tightness. (Still can't stand fully erect, and it feels like I still have the binder on, even when I take it off.) That's due to the 100+ permanent sutures he installed, to strengthen my abdominal wall. I'm feeling great. Even after losing 236 pounds, I still didn't feel succesful, still carrying that huge panace around. You can't imagine what it feels like, to look down and not have that reminder hanging half-way to your knees. (OK, maybe some of you can!) I'm already looking forward to the next phase of reconstruction, in about six months! Now that the bottom two-thirds have been done, it makes the gynephasia all the more pronounced. Guest guest
Oh I can totally relate!! That was my biggest problem post op...feeling so sucessful but still having all this flabby stuff hanging. At 9 months post tummy tuck...I still find myself rubbing my cute new little tummy. Before having the apron removed I never knew when I was bloated from PMS or Constipation etc. The first time I felt it I was shocked but then did a happy dance(I know that sounds silly)singing Im bloated, Im bloated!! My daughter thought I had lost it being happy about it, but it was the fact that I could feel it. In the shower, not having to lift to wash is also very liberating!!! > Hey guys! Guest guest
Blush! Thanks Collen! I know some women who feel the same way about their breasts, as I did about my panace. Depending (mostly on genetics) they can either feel like they're loosing everywhere else but, or they feel " deflated. " Reductions or lifts/augmentations are very common for women, a couple years post-op. Reconstructive surgery like this can bring a real sense of " completion, " that " just " losing the weight doesn't. We really must work with Sasha (Dr. Stiles) to make Mamma Kaiser see the importance of including reconstructive plastic surgery, as an integral part of the bariatric recovery process. It was in the program my brother was in, back in Pennsylvania. Uncle Timmy -236 > Hey guys! Just got back from the body sculptor's. Guest guest
As you discovered , things get um, shall we say " relocated " after an abdominoplasty/panniculactomy. " That's supposed to be THERE? " How handy. (so to speak!) (LOL!) Uncle Timmy -236 > > Hey guys! Just got back from the body sculptor's. The non- > > permanent sutures were removed and the incisions debraded and > > redressed.
