~ So sorry to hear of you having MORE pain !!! No one should have so much to put up with !!! At least you did get a 'freebie' out of it !!!! AND CRY !!! That relieves tension and stress !!!!! There is NOTHING wrong with a grown man crying !!!!! My hubby does sometimes ~ not only when in pain but when thinking of loved ones no longer here ~ he is VERY tender-hearted !!!!! He does not cry in front of others ~ too embarrassed ~ but he does cry !!!!! Sometimes a song may come on the radio that makes him cry !!! So DO NOT BE ASHAMED !!!!!!! You were able to 'let it out' !!!!! And you may shed more at your grandfather's grave ~ but that's fine too !!! But remember ~ he is in a far, far better place than we are in !!

Glad y'all made some money with the garage sale and will have a little 'extry' money for SRD !!!!!!!! Hugs, Randie

My Friday (long defective story)

Well the good news is I went to Chinese food for dinner on Friday and I followed the advice that was sent, not sure by whom, which said to stick with Won Ton Soup, Steamed Dumplings, brown rice, and lots of water. I did just that! Well...I drank iced tea with Splenda but I had tons of water that night. That was the only meal I had that day but it wasn't by choice. Continuing with the subject of defective ....I went to the dentist Friday morning at 9:30 for an appointment that was supposed to last two hours. It was time to finish the other side of my mouth top and bottom including any fillings and cleanings and etc. I needed. I was ready for it and willing to pay the 320.00 that the insurance didn't pay. The visit started out with a notice that they forgot to collect my 25.00 copay last year AND that the insurance didn't cover one procedure. SO....my total went up to 410.11! I'm like fine...it needs to be done before it gets worse. The first thing I told the dentist about was th Anyway....it felt good to vent! My mom and I had a garage sale at her house on Saturday and we made 160.00! We sold just about everything within like 4 hours! We were shocked. It was a great day. My storage is not as crowded now and we have a lot of extra spending money for our SRD in April. We set it all up on Thursday so we didn't have much to do the morning of but sale, sale, sale. We are going tomorrow to lunch and to visit my grandfather's grave for the first time. I hope the rest of the week is better for me. I hope you all have a great week. Thanks for listening to me complain. I'm good at that! YOUR KOPS PAL (for the TOPS loops), :)

...sorry you had so much dental pain! Glad you didn't have to pay for all that pain! You are not defective.....it takes alot and I mean ALOT of shots to get me numb. More than most humans!

Glad you were sensible with your eating...I can think of alot of liquid things you could have had with alot of calories attached and not very filling.

Woo-Hoo good garage sale!

I'm like fine...it needs to be done before it gets worse. The first thing I told the dentist about was that the tooth that I had the root canal and permanent crown put on was hurting. It was VERY sensitive to cold and throbbed at times. She told me that it was probably a tooth around that area because a root canal shouldn't hurt. She took an xray and it didn't show any problems but she did a "tap" and sensitivity test and found out it was the tooth behind the root canal, a tooth with a filling, that was causing all the problems. She also said my wisdom teeth are impacted and needed to come out one day. ONE THING AT A TIME PLEASE! So she told me she was going to take the old filling out and put a sedative filling in that tooth behind the root canal and if that helped then she would put a permanent filling in there in 3 - 6 weeks. If not I would have to have another root canal. UGH! Anyways......she numbed me three times (three shots) and I was still not numb. She was shocked. Her partner came in and shot me two more times (hers didn't hurt too bad/his was HORRIBLE. I thought I had a hole in my cheek after that) and I finally got numb. She comes back in to start drilling the filling out and I had terrible pain. She shoots me again, waits, tries again and still terrible pain. She shoots me yet again, closer to the tooth, and still pain! It was horrible! I tried to ignore it and breath and be a man but I just couldn't do it! I finally gave in and said yes to the nitris (sp) they can give you. It's a 75.00 charge (not covered by insurance) but the pain was horrible so I said FINE! The gas made me feel drunk (WOO HOO) and then she comes back and tries again...still terrible pain. There was nothing left to do I guess. She just kept drilling the filling out and going slow. Then she did something that vibrated and OH MY GOSH I thought I was going to die! ! ! That has to be the worst pain I have ever felt in my life! She just couldn't get me numb. DEFECTIVE! ! ! ! 4 1/2 hours later ON ONE TOOTH I am done and go to the front. She felt so bad that I was in so much pain that the visit was free. I didn't have to pay for anything that day. My whole face was killing me but I was a little relieved that I didn't have to pay all that money. By the time I got to eat it was after 6 and I chose Chinese so I could have some soup. That's why I made the good choices I made. I didn't walk last night (wanted to just rest) but I did well on my eating and my drinking and I'm praying that what she did fixes it because A) I can't go through that again and B) I don't want another root canal. Yikes! ! ! The defectiveness continues! I came home (thank God I was alone) and sat on the couch and I was in so much pain and I started thinking about my neck/chest problems (that no one can figure out) and my breathing problems (that no one can figure out) and my tooth pain (that no one could figure out why I couldn't get numb) and all the other problems I had and I just bawled like a little girl! ! ! ! The dog was all over me. I guess she knew I was sad or in pain or something. It felt good to get that out! LOL! And, yes, I admitted it here in front of all these people! ! ! Anyway....it felt good to vent! My mom and I had a garage sale at her house on Saturday and we made 160.00! We sold just about everything within like 4 hours! We were shocked. It was a great day. Gosh, - - I'm sooooo sorry you had to go through all that!! You don't do anything the easy way, do you??? And I certainly don't blame you for just sitting down and having a good cry; sometimes that's just the only thing that will help!!

I'm glad your garage sale went well - - my chapter had a bake sale/craft sale in front of our Sam's store yesterday (from 10:00 to 2:00) and we made $250 for our SRD fund!! Sam's will let non-profit organizations set up outside the building, so it was a great spot, a great day, and a lot of fun as well as being profitable!!

Hope this next week goes well for you - - - when do you have to go back to work???

,

I'm sorry about your physical problems. I wish I could help.

Not to beat a dead horse, but *I* think *us* TexasTOPS loopers have figured out

your breathing problems...now if only the DOCTORS would figure it out! Sick

building

syndrome after the flood. You are almost certain to have mold and mildew in

there. I

remember a nursing home I used to work in flooded and the workers came in and

removed a bunch of sheet rock and wall paper, but not nearly enough. They left

some mold and of course, that stuff just keeps on spreading. They also just wet-

vacuumed up the carpets. That didn't do any good! You can't see the mold and

mildew under the wallpaper until the seams start peeling, but the mold is there

and

we were breathing it. You can't see it under the carpet in the padding until it

is

discolored. I finally quit working there. My lungs couldn't take it.

Now, about your teeth and nitrous oxide. I'm sorry you had such a miserable

experience. When I went to have my first wisdom tooth removed I was 20 and they

had to " shoot " me 5 times before they numbed the area. The nerve that runs back

there is very small and can be hard to find in some people. I couldn't blink for

hours. I

finally went to bed and had to tape my eye shut! About the nitrous oxide...there

are

some people that aren't affected by it. I didn't know that until my little

granddaughter

went to have some dental work done when she was 5 and they gave it to her.

Didn't

phase her a bit so they had to take her to some kind of pediatric dental

specialist to

have anesthesia of another sort. The first dentist told us the percentage of

people the

nitrous doesn't work on, but I've forgotten. Soooooooo, rather than thinking of

yourself as defective, think of yourself as unique! Right, Janet? The glass is

always

half-full! :) I hope you are feeling better tonight as I know dental work can be

painful.

Georgie, sending hugs your way. Your story is why I hate dentists. I use

Amway toothpaste and have not had a cavity or any tooth problems in the last

15 years. Except for cleaning I never want to be toughed by one again.

Gosh, . I'm

soooo sorry to hear about your experience at the dentist. I hate going

to the dentist, too. And because of my obsessive compulsive

toothbrushing disorder, I have thinned out the enamel on my teeth so

much so, that I have to have my entire mouth numbed just to have my

teeth CLEANED! Did you know that they can numb the bottom teeth of

most people with shots in just 3 places, BUT for the top teeth, they

must give you a shot for EACH tooth???!!! What is that, about 14 shots

for the upper and 3 for the lower, for a total of 17 shots just to

clean my teeth. I think my dentist's chair has holes underneath the

arm rests from where I've put my fingernails through the vinyl!!

I'm glad that you didn't have to pay.

hugs,

Janet

Thanks Janet. It was a horrible experience. I don't want to go through it again.

I have red marks on my left hand where I was digging in my nails. I would take a

shot in the cheek to numb my teeth any day over what I went through. I might

have to find a denist that knocks me out if I can't get numb next time. My

dentist was shocked that I was still feeling pain. She kept saying she was sorry

and she kept rubbing my arm. She is the nicest lady and I am glad I found her. I

have never been scared to go to the dentist before but now I am. LOL! I will go

back for the rest of my work AFTER SRD. I don't need anything else bothering me

while I'm out of town! :) Hopefully the alcohol I drink at SRD will numb any

other pain I have. Oops! Did I say that outloud? LOL!

My teeth look good but they weren't in good shape when I first went to the

dentist. I am having a ton of work done. I will not neglect my teeth anymore

after all this is over. I just don't want to be scared of dentists and now I am!

LOL! Hey don't you lose a lot of weight after you have your wisdom teeth taken

out? There's an idea! ! !

, I hate to burst your bubble, but I DIDN'T LOSE ANY WEIGHT WHEN I HAD MY WISDOM TEETH OUT!! All the soft stuff you can eat is loaded with calories! LOL Now if you'd stick to soup, maybe you could lose, but mashed potatoes, gravies, ice cream and that kind of stuff will put pounds on you even when you can't eat solid food!!

So you have to be careful even when you can't chew real food, my friend!!!

Bummer! Oh well....soup it is! LOL! LOL!

I have a friend who had his wisdom teeth out and he lost 35 lbs.! ! ! Of course

his got infected and he was off work and bed ridden for two months. I sure hope

that doesn't happen to me! He sued the dentist and won a ton of money. I used to

work with him at Sears.
