Guest guest
Here's hoping that you've gone to the urgent care fellow by the time I'm writing this. I sometimes wonder if all we patients/medical consumers should simply revolt against the system. See how the recent doctor walk-outs are getting attention and making things happen in the malpractice insurance mess? I am a believer in people taking action rather than waiting for the government to. Besides, the less government, the better, and the more power regular folks will have to direct their own lives. Annette, what a shocker to hear what you did from your rheumy today, after all this time! I'd be worrying and wondering too, if I were you. What Lynn said hit the nail on the head. The snow we've had today-- it's only an illusion, and we were really dozing on a tropical beach, surrounded by palms, parrots and monkeys Lynn, you might as well go for the Minocin now. At the very least, a trial of not less than 6 months , starting at possibly even as low a dose as 50mg 2-3 times a week, most likely isn't going to hurt you in any way, shape or form. I've not had anything occur that is negative, and my liver counts are just fine. If you do, try to get your doctor to prescribe brand-name Minocin. What I have is a generic, Teva brand, and I know of others having success with that brand, too. But, most recommend you get the name brand whenever possible. At the very least, it might be very good for your arthritis!! Remember, minocycline also has anti-inflammatory properties and DMARD properties, with fewer long term side effects than pred. You can take both at the same time, though, if necessary for a while. I know Vicki mentioned that when she questioned the efficacy of the antibiotic treatment. I think you've read on the rheumatic.org site, though, haven't you? Jules
