Guest guest
That's pretty cool. And it will also teach her the value of money and how to handle it responsibly. Kylie has always been good with money. We started giving her an allowance when she turned 5. We give one dollar for every year old she is. She is to buy all her 'treats'. When she started going to the roller rink and such, she had to pay. She has saved her money and bought things like a game boy, video games for her nintendo, new etnies (65.00 tennies), etc......now that she has more money, she is giving more to the church and thinking of things to do for others. She is a good kid with a big heart. Zanna

Guest guest
Hi, . Yep, the tacos were good. A sorry substitute for turkey and fixins, but good nonetheless. ) I do know of 2 people who have PM and both got their Disability on their first go round. However, one is in his 60's and was a labourer, so that's a given and the other one is in his 40's but his is so much worse than mine. He's actually on death's door and he's had it for about 5 years. The idiot of a Rheumy I was seeing locally said that my pain was indeed caused by fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome, but I doubted him. Man, will I ever feel stupid if this specialist in Montreal agrees with him! Oops!! Regardless of what's causing the pain, the pain is very real and I want some relief, if that's possible! And as for my disability case, you add FM and MPS to the PM and SS.....well, you've got that much more added to the mix and more of a reason to approve me. We'll see. As for the Minocyclin, I took that for several years for my acne. Funny you should mention that, because that was the first thing I thought of when hearing about the AP. Perhaps I should mention it to the Dr. for my acne and reap the benefits of it otherwise, as well. Thanks for your advice and encouragement. Hope you're recovering from turkey day. ) Dawn gide672@... wrote: > Hiya Dawn, > Enjoy your tacos yesterday? Guest guest
No, He didn't. At times I've felt like He has, but I know in my heart that He hasn't. I intend to go back to my church the first of the year. There are so many good people there that have never stopped praying for me and that care a great deal about me. I also care about them, so I look forward to being a part of that again (if my health allows me to). Dawn gide672@... wrote: > Hi Dawn, > You've got better reason than I for skipping church. Guest guest
What's a cigalert??? Traffic jam. When I first moved out here from Wisconsin, I heard that on the radio and asked my hubby-then boyfriend- what that meant (I thought it had to do with cigarette's-LOL). He told me to just imagine that a herd of cows was blocking the road and the traffic was at a standstill. Funny guy huh???? Wisconsin is not ONLY cows and farming. Although not much else there it not the ONLY thing!!! Zanna
Guest guest
Thanks Melita. I ended up paying $75 for a private room for 2 nights, as I was taking an oral fleet and living on the comode chair/bathroom. That's such a personal thing, I don't mind paying for the private room. Then I was moved into a 3 bed ward where I stayed with a woman who was in her mid-80's and didn't know a thing. Poor soul. I prayed for her regularly. Apparently she's been like this for quite some time and her husband took care of her 24/7, however, he had passed away suddenly a week ago. She talked non-stop, but to nobody in particular and couldn't do a thing for herself. She was a nice Christian woman though (spoke much about Jesus) and I actually enjoyed being in with her kinda over-seeing things. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be being in the ward, I guess. Guest guest
You can make chocolate fudge really easy. I will look up the recipe. You don't need a thermometor for that one either. My mom makes me butterscotch fudge. I tried but it never comes out like hers so I look forward to hers every year. I am glad you are using your stuff and that Marlee is keeping check on you! I am still in severe pain. I am thinking about going tonight. I want to sleep. I am always afraid that it is something serious and it will be bad news that I can't take or that the doctor's will say 'it's all in your head, go home'. I hate going to the hosp, ER, or doc. Guest guest
LOL. Well, since I've never attempted to make fudge, I think it best we leave it at the store-bought stuff. Ha! I love chocolate fudge and have often wanted to make it, but I've heard you need a candy thermometer to make sure it's the right temp. before pouring it into your pan, and I don't have one. Others have told me that's nonsense, so I don't know. Anyway, glad you enjoyed your chocolate and mug. I've used the Proactive for 3 nights now and every morning Marlee quizzes me to make sure I'm using it. Ever since she saw the commercial on TV, she's insisted that I try it, so once you sent me some, she was very excited! She thinks I'm beautiful but doesn't like the pimples so much. And she's only 6!! Hopefully genetics are kinder to her than they were to me. Dawn mrsxanadu@... wrote: > Quit worrying about your parcel not being very big. Guest guest
Dawn, Making fudge is so easy and you don't need a candy thermometer! The secret is to drop a few drops of the fudge in cold water after it starts to boil. If it makes a soft ball it is ready. At the stage where it is forming a ball, you have to test about every minute to get it just right, but then it is off with the heat and beat until it is almost set up. Vickie LOL. Guest guest
Hi Zanna! I'm sorry you are still feeling so bad. I hate going to the ER too. I had an IVIg treatment today and my face broke out with redness and a little swelling. I called to ask them if I needed to come in and they said only if my throat felt like it was closing or I had trouble breathing. So I took some Benedryl and went to bed! The swelling and redness are gone now and I am so relieved I didn't have to go back! I just hope I don't have anymore flare-ups with the redness and swelling. Hope you get better soon! Guest guest
Sure, send me the recipe for your fudge, please. I have one here that's supposedly very easy and uses a can of marshmallow fluff. Is this the same as yours? Guest guest
I will admit that the visit was interesting, however, I don't think I'll go back. Much of what he told me was just common sense. The proper diet, for instance. I haven't checked out the Omega Zone diet yet, but eating lots of fresh veggies and fruits and staying away from junk is just good sense. I've also heard about the aspartame side-affects before, as well. I think I'll continue taking the flaxseed, but otherwise, I'm just going to stick with my meds. Yes, I know they're not good for us in respect to all the side-affects they can have on a person, but we also know that they're a necessity for our well-being with this disease. My dilemma is this. My friend from church is such an AVID believer of this stuff and this Dr. (they're personal friends as well) and she's so positive this is the answer to all my health problems, that now I don't know how to break the news to her that it's just not for me. I know that she'll be hurt. I know it will cause ill feelings and I've even considered to keep going just for her sake, but I know that I can't do that. Also, he would like to see me a couple times a week for my 'treatments' and it's an hour's drive, so I can't afford the gas either. Oh well, I know I'll have to be brave and just level with her, but I'm such a wimp!! Dawn mrsxanadu@... wrote: > That doctor sounded interesting. Guest guest
Dawn, Just tell her that at this time, it isn't feasible for you to go to that guy. I know it's hard. I had a friend that insisted that the only reason I was sick was that I drank diet coke and if I only quit doing that, I would be cured. Her mom claims she cured her breast cancer lump with no surgery, chemo, or radiation. Just be changing her diet. When my other friend's daughter was dx with an inoperable brain tumor (on her brain stem) and was given only 8 months to live (she died after 2 at the age of 7), I had asked this friend to pray for her and her response was 'have her talk to my mom, she can cure her.....'. I didn't call her for a long time after that. It bothers me. I don't see anything wrong with exploring other options but I am all for modern medicine. It has come a long way and cured a million things. Anyway, that is how I feel.... Take care and if you lose her as a friend over a disagreement this minor, she really wasn't a friend to begin with..... : ) Zanna
