Guest guest
Hi, everyone! My name is and I just joined the group. It's great to have a place that offers information, support, advice, " been there, done that " knowledge, " been there, doing that " knowledge, and all that jazz. I'm a little over two weeks post-op from a lap RNY procedure. At my last pre-op appointment I weighed 244 (June 11th) and at five days post-op I was at 235. I'm starting to fall in love with my body again. It's been so long since I could say that but this morning I was so psyched. My belly's smaller, my hips are smaller, my face looks slimmer ... and it's only been two weeks. I'm excited and giddy and looking forward to all that's in store down the road. A little bit about me ... I'm a single mom to one little boy (Jordan who is 3). We live in the New Orleans, Louisiana area. I work full time for an engineering company. I love to read, I dabble in writing a little bit, and I like playing softball. I look forward to sharing this experience with you all too! Thanks for offering such a resource. I'm happy to be here. +

Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome, Felicia! I had company come to visit this weekend and it's always fun to see the city through the new eyes of guests. :-) It was a little bit crowded downtown but we had a great time. I had so much energy too! Can you tell I'm giddy? ~laughs~ If you come back to the city, you'll have to look me up. I like it here already! ----- Original Message ----- From: Felicia (Flea) Hi Welcome to the group!!!! Guest guest
It's good to be giddy.......and next time I am there I will let you know I am coming. It is a great city and it sounds like you had fun It always cracks me up that it is so busy there during the summers, last summer I think I took 7 showers a day while I was there....so very hot However, great for the weightloss, just step outside for a half an hour (make sure you get your liquids) and your sweating it off *giggle* On My Way- Felicia (Flea) Surgery date: May 6, 2003 http://www.inthemoments.com Starting: 274 Current 231 -43 lbs

Guest guest
That sounds great! ~smiles~ We had an awesome time! It was so rainy this weekend though. Yucky weather for the most part. Saturday night was wonderful though. Not too humid and very mild! We went downtown, sightseeing that night. ----- Original Message ----- From: Felicia (Flea) It's good to be giddy.......and next time I am there I will let you know I am coming. Guest guest
That's great ! I always wanted to chat with someone who was right there along with me as far as date wise. Guest guest
I'm doing well so far ... Ready to branch out as far as food goes, but feeling upbeat, excited, energetic, and positive! Guest guest
What kind of diet are you on? See, my doc apparently does things totally diff from everyone else and I'm only allowed creamed soups, malt o meal, cream of wheat, smoothies, broth, water, juice and Gatorade (which I can't have the last two because of the sugar, makes me dump). I don't get even soft foods for another three weeks, maybe four. I have a problem with queasiness too. Wake up to it every morning. I don't know what it is but I'm determined to live through it. Have you been around anyone that has been sick? Anything else to go along with it? Hope you feel better soon. Re: Hello from a new member ... I'm doing well so far ... Guest guest
I'm up to soft foods, a little bit of chicken, tuna. So far I've tolerated everything I've eaten with no real nausea or vomiting. The queasy feeling is more a gassy feeling. Hard to explain. You too! I'm glad I've got a " date buddy " ... it's really cool! :-) RE: Hello from a new member ... What kind of diet are you on? Guest guest
Hi You are so wonderful and a really good role model. WOW only one week off sheesh you are a dynamo too. I have an office sit down type of job too so I will see how I feel after a week. I would really like to go to Disney this December so maybe I can conserve that week LOL. But then again you are an extraordinary person as far as recovery goes. I really don't want to throw up or feel nauseous or any of that. I pretty much right now have a cast iron tummy can eat anything basically so I hope that still holds true after surgery. Right now I can't even imagine being full on 4 oz of food LOL but soon think of the money I will save on food while on vacation LOL. My daughter and I can split plates all the time hahaha because after 2-3 tablespoons I will be DONE stick a fork in me LOL. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me a lowly pre-op LOL I'm not worthy hehe Take Care and stay so upbeat Lori Anne pre-op Lap RNY 8/25/
Guest guest
Hi, Lori Anne! Thanks for the compliments! I'm really psyched about the changes. It feels really good. :-) I took a week off. I had surgery on June 20th (a Friday) and returned to work on June 30th (a Monday). I have an office job and my only restrictions were no lifting, pushing or pulling anything over 10 pounds for four weeks. That's not a problem at my job. I actually had an amazingly easy surgery (the doctor was ready to let me go less than 24 hours later but my gramps put his foot down and said no. LOL) and a pretty easy recovery. I've had zero troubles with food tolerance, vomiting or nausea. I keep telling my mom I'm waiting to hit that huge brick wall that makes me say " OMG, what have you done? " but so far it's been all positives. :-) I still have a touch of soreness but for the most part feel my normal self. I barely qualified for surgery (by BMI standards) and a few of the nurses and CNAs started calling me Skinny Minnie in the hospital. ~laughs~ I don't think I fit the traditional " skinny Minnie " profile. I'm itching to go back to working out. I've been treating myself to personal training and I've developed quite a rapport with my trainer and the next two weeks can't go by fast enough so I can hit the gym again! I'll be thinking about you! Re: Hello from a new member ... Way to Go losing weight already.
