Guest guest
Hi Val, Good for you, for not giving up! YOU GO MOM!!! Is your appt on the 17th a casting appointment? If you do plan on banding him, you should make your appt his casting appointment. Even if you don't cast him, have it set so if you do decide to band him you can get casted that day. Does that make sense? lol Good luck and keep us posted. > > As many of you probably remember it's been a long saga for us: Mark > was banded at 12 m.o. with a local helmet, wore it for 3 months > and " graduated " on the 29 of March with decent (in my eyes) > improvement. Guest guest
Hello Val First off, where are you located? I was wondering why Mark needs a passport. You can get the rush on them though and get them within a wk. Just expensive is all. I had to do that once and had it within a wk, but paid $125 for it and this was over 10years ago. Good luck and let us know how it goes Sandy Willow's Mom Torticollis resolved Cranio Germany Grad \ > > As many of you probably remember it's been a long saga for us: Mark > was banded at 12 m.o. with a local helmet, wore it for 3 months > and " graduated " on the 29 of March with decent (in my eyes) > improvement. Guest guest
Good luck! Way to go on not giving up. This can be a difficult journey since so many people (well respected) just don't get it. na, DOC Grad X2 Feb 04, Tort Resolved Kiersten, DOC Grad 4/4/06, Tort Resolved www.thefilyaws.com/plagio/plagio.html > > As many of you probably remember it's been a long saga for us: Mark > was banded at 12 m.o. with a local helmet, wore it for 3 months > and " graduated " on the 29 of March with decent (in my eyes) > improvement. Guest guest
Sandy - we are in Toronto, Canada. There used to be a CT office in Calgary, but they switched to STARband, and I actually heard they are planning to switch to the one we used for Mark, from The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. I actually tried to contact people in Calgary last December when they still used DOCband and were basically told off... They said he was too old and Mark wasn't even 12 m.o. at that point. I regret now that we haven't gone with CT from the start, as we would've seen more correction, but all in all, at least, we saw some correction. His head DOES look better than it used to. Will see what people at CT tell my husband. I will not be able to travel, because I am in the process of getting Canadian citizenship, thus, don't have a Canadian passport yet; my old passport has expired and getting a new one from bureaucratic Russia is going to take a year and is going to cost me a leg and an arm. I got a letter from CT stating that Mark has an appointment with them and is going to use it to try and get an emergency passport. I'll keep you updated. Guest guest
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to get it covered by the provincial health insuarance. it is pricey and if you also consider the cost of travel, especially from Manitoba... - it becomes really expensive. It's going to be about $ 400 CAD for us each time we go there plus $ 2700 for the helmet and appointments. Looks like we won't be going to Czech Republic this summer... Don't really want to jump ahead of myself. We will see what they think about Mark's head at CT and will take it from there. When you got DOC band for Andre, did it take a long time for him to adjust? Valhaylee204 <rascle204@...> wrote: I have b/g twins andre and lesly. We live in Manitoba. We are also thinking about going to Chicago. Right now we have a request in to Manitoba Health to pay for us to travel there to get a doc band. I'm assuming the will say no but we are hopeful. Good luck at the appointment.Haylee> >> > As many of you probably remember it's been a long saga for us: Mark > > was banded at 12 m.o. with a local helmet, wore it for 3 months > > and "graduated" on the 29 of March with decent (in my eyes) > > improvement. Guest guest
Hi , We have an appointment at Oakbrook location, but from what I understood our clinician works at both locations. Her name is Joanne. She has been wonderful so far. I'll let you know if I have any questions. Thank you! How old is Landon? Valrockieslady <MPSimecek@...> wrote: Val..Which CT are you going to??
