Guest guest
Hi, Don't feel too bad about not taking it too seriously. I didn't have any symptoms and everyone thought that I was ok. If my mother did not have severe symptoms, I probably would have put off going GF. But I did have a rude awakening, developing appendicitis and then during recovery trying to eat regular foods for two weeks BEFORE getting the test results back. I kept getting bloated and cramps and stuff after eating all this nice whole wheat bread that was supposed to help me heal faster. The surgeon kept telling me that this was " normal " . Anyway, after going GF, I felt so much better in many ways. You should start checking into taking extra vitamins and adapt to the diet. There's a lot to learn and a lot of foods that you can enjoy. Just remember to take things one step at a time. Start simple and give yourself time. Joy > > Hi everyone, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is and I > live in the Bay Area. Guest guest
Hi - It's great that you have found this place - I find everyone friendly and helpful. No question too stupid, and there are always many answers. I'm glad to hear you are finally gluten-free. Sorry you didn't feel able to do it when you were first diagnosed, but I think you'll find it gets easier as you go along. I would recommend that you go to the local library and check out a cookbook or two. Before you buy one or two of them, figure out which ones are most to your liking. I doubt if your celiac symptoms will clear up right away, it takes months for some people, but after a year or so, you should begin to feel really normal. Best of luck in your new life style, there are lots of us there with you. Guest guest
Hi ! I've been gluten-free for a little over a week (for the most part thanks to inaccurate lists and my ignorance on reading labels). This group is a life-saver! There are so many knowledgable people here that help so much. :-) Cheyenne
