Guest guest
I just have to share this because I just know you guys will understand what a big step this is! I have recently started exercising on a regular basis. I started my new job on November 1st, and they have a fitness center here (I work for Crate & Barrel). I joined on my first day and started working out, just doing treadmill, weights, and/or exercise bike. However, I had a really rough period in December -- the baby was sick so I wasn't sleeping, my IBS was bad, I was depressed, etc. I think part of what kept dashing my motivation was that I was doing this all by myself, and there are a lot of really pretty people here! They have exercise classes, but I have not exercised in front of people -- or in front of mirrors -- for more than eight years! But yesterday was huge -- I actually took an exercise CLASS! In front of other people -- including men and women I work with every day! Oh my God! Get this -- I was so full of grim determination to do this despite my insane anxiety, that when I was changing in the locker room and discovered I had forgotten a t-shirt, I went out and BOUGHT a Crate & Barrel t-shirt to wear. Even more crazy, they didn't have one in my size so I got one a size too small!!!! Every time I started to fatigue in the class (it was a weights class yesterday), I reminded myself what I had gone through to even get that far, and that motivated me to continue. So I'm no thinner yet, but I can definitely feel the workout and I'm going to take the class again today (they're doing cardio). I'm so psyched!!! Now, how quickly will that 100 pounds drop off??? Best to all, JT
