Guest guest
I have written several times, My son Nicolas is 5.8 mths and was dx w/apraxia and PDD/NOS and did not start talking until he was 4, still has his delays and issues, but I wanted to share with you parents to always believe in your child and keep the Faith.. as we always do. Like many of you we have had many struggles to overcome and we have had many blessings as well, Be we have a wonderful blessing I wanted to share with everyone. Nicolas has been taking karate for about 2 months now and is doing great. In karate either the Sensei/Teacher or one of the kids call out the name of the kata (training/'fighting techniques) for the class to do. On Saturday, Nicolas was asked to call out the kata and perform each kata (about 20) and the class was to follow - by the way the katas are in Japanese! This was so wonderful to see and hear. At the end of the class, he was given a yellow stripe for his white belt. I don't know who was more proud me or Nicolas. He was beaming from ear to ear - What a blessing all from a child that some professions said, " Mom he may not talk you may have to learn to live with that " I wanted to share with you what great progress Nicolas has made and is making all As and Bs in a regular kindergarten classroom. Yes, I am proud. Blessings to all, Phyllis and Nicolas.
