Guest guest
OK, I went to Wild Oats, AGAIN today! (third time this week!) and while there, looked for cheese curds. They had some spiced up ones in the deli ... and they had some in the cheese section. However, the ones they had at my store were all cheddar! I am avoiding cheddar, since I am intolerant to it...(severe mold allergy.) I think the deli has mozzerella ones (but they were balls, vs curds.) What kinds of cheeses are used?? Perhaps I should keep looking... Oh, soooooooo I found some Edy's Coconut Cream icecream bars... WOW,they look so good! Has anyone had them? The lady at the checkout (manager) said...oh my! those would be so good dipped in chocolate sauce...(I am hoping!!) I also found some Celesetial Seasonings iced whatever...they use rice and other stuff...it seemed to likely be GF, but I am wondering, has anyone had it? I got the Tropical Strawberry or something (coconut, strawberry and hmmm.) Can you tell it is hot here in Maine today/lately? It was in the low 90s with humidity in the 70s and 80s...ICK. Guest guest
If you mean their Tropical strawberry tea, it is gluten free according to their web page: http://www.celestialseasonings.com/products/product.php?prod_id=983&cat_name= If you mean: Tea Dreams Tropic of Strawberry Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert NEW! Strawberry Rice Dream with piña colada and banana swirls and strawberry chunks ... Because it is made from Rice Dream, it is probably NOT gluten free as Rice Dream contains barley malt. However, you could contact them directly and ask. Too bad, their tea dairy free frozen desserts look yummy... The weather in Yokohama, Japan has also turned HOT and ridiculously humid... typical Japanese summer, unfortunately. I'm drinking chilled homemade celestial seasonings Peach Passion tea like it is going out of style. (Brought the tea with me from the states.) Guest guest
Can't tell you what is going on in Maine but we have had horrible, sticky weather also in Wisconsin! This weekend with the heat index it got up to 108! Can't even stand to be outside! I get the Edy's coconut bars all the time!! I am addicted! The lemonade ones are good too, but nothing compares to the coconut ones! YUM! I think most cheese curds are cheddar sorry. But if you can have mozzerella, I think the mozzerella balls you can get in the deli section are quite good. I have never tried to fry them like you would a cheese curd but I am sure they would be yummy! The ones they sell at the deli by me are larger than a cheese curd though. > > OK, I went to Wild Oats, AGAIN today! (third time this week!) and while > there, looked for cheese curds. Guest guest
>>Can't tell you what is going on in Maine but we have had horrible, sticky weather also in Wisconsin! << Well, it was 94* today (or more) with a humidity level almost as high (in the 70s to high 80s %) Ick. Nothing worse than having 85* day with 85% humidity....I can handle hot and dry. I can handle cool and humid, but I cannot handle hot and humid! It is 76* right now (11:45 PM) and 80% humidity. And that feels nice, compared to earlier. Looks like it is supposed to cool down a bit (into the high 70s and low 80s in the next few days) YAY! >>I think most cheese curds are cheddar sorry. I don't fry much of anything, but thought it would be fun to try the mozzerella balls ..and yes, i did notice they were larger than the curd. I have seen them in the deli with cherry or grape tomatoes and spices... Thanks, Oh, the thing worse than a 85* humid day? A 95* day that is 95% humid. Guest guest
Is the name of the Madison store "C's"? Or is it a restaurant? Can You tell me where it is located? Thanks, Michele 7. Re: love this group Posted by: " Karls" karlsetc@... karlsetc Wed Jul 19, 2006 8:44 am (PST) Yes I have been to C's and know Char well. She has been very helpful with teaching us about various GF products out there and will look up commercial items for me to check if they're GF. I've heard from my friend at work that Sami's is good bread. Does it taste more like bread than some of them out there? I think EnerG bread is positively awful but hubby recently tried a bread I found at our health food co-op (Willi street Co-op). It is millet bread made by Food for Life that he said he likes as it doesn't crumble. Also, the best lasagna noodles are from Grandma Ferdon's in Hayward WI and my kids can't even tell they're GF- amazing... Yahoo! Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Try it free. Guest guest
It is a specialty foods store. It is listed as both C's specialty foods and The Low Carb Market. It is located at 462 Commerce Dr. (west side). The number is . The owner Char is WONDERFUL! She will let you sample before you buy to make sure you like the products. She also tracks your purchases if you like and gives you a print out at the end of the year for tax deduction purposes. She is so well informed and has new products every time i go in there. She has a web site- http://www.low-carbmarket.com/ I realy reccomend checking her store out. Her prices are very reasonable also!! > > > Is the name of the Madison store " C's " ?
