ZUCCHINI AND OXALATES

I recently planted some zucchini in my backyard and after eating them for a few

days I developed a big flare. I have been watching my oxalates and couldn't

understand why I had the flare.

I looked up zucchini and learned that it is high in oxalates although

information in the archives indicate that it is low.

So I did some investigating and found that Oxalates lists published in 2003 show

it as low oxalate but newer lists show it as high. I wonder how many other

foods have new values.

The Vulvar Pain Foundation has published a Cookbook #2 where they list foods

containing oxalates and I think they have zucchini and yellow squash as being

low oxalate. I have not purchased the book but wonder if they are being

accurate. Their telephone number has been disconnected.

The latest listing for oxalates in foods that I could find is at University of

Pittsburgh and I have put it in a file which is attached. Or it can be accessed

at:
