Guest guest
OMG!!! My family and I were in Disney from the 14th through the 19th. My brother, his wife and 2 kids were also there and there son is apraxic too. Four families with apraxic children at disney at the same time....how bizarre is that? My son had the time of his life....especially on water slides at the resort pool and goofy's barnstormer. We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter....where did you stay? We live in CT and flew there and back....my son didn't want to be on the plane for the trip home, all he wanted was to be in my car on the way to the house. He had a really hard time grasping the fact that we had to take an airplane to get back to our car. It was a good trip though....he has wanted to sleep a lot since we got back so he is happy to be home. 3 (4 on 9/02) SID/Vestibular processing disorder/multiple food allergies Sammy 27mo. We had an AWESOME time. We got to meet and her 2 sons (Dakota and Tanner) got Abby to go on " grown up " rides, that I originally thought Abby would never go on. I might be missing some others. When the rides were over, Abby would say, " Lets try it again " . It was so funny and cute. My husband Steve and I were floored at her enthusiastic responce to the rides. Another thing that we all noticed was how Abby took to , like was an Aunt to Abby, that Abby had known all her life. And Tanner took to Steve the same way. As if the kids knew the other parent had experience, knowledge and passion for who they are, and what they are. It was very interesting to watchHurleyLuva999 this connection unfold. Ahhh the magic of Disney, (haha) As far as Abby's speech, we see a difference. She is saying words and expressions that we never heard her say before. For example, when we were driving, my husband said, I'm hungry! My daughter Alyssa said, " Me too " Abby then said, " ME THREE!!! " We all were in shock and laughed at the " joke " she made. Her behaviors were deffinitely off during our vacation. She has been very hyper, aggressive, and in need of something. Well, unfortunately, I realized that I had forgotten her fish oils. Luckily when we met w/ she brought us some for Abby. She is better today finally. However sitting in a car for 16 hours will make any child a little punchy. All in all, the kids had a great time! So more Disney trips are in our near future. Guest guest
, WOW! we stayed at port orleans riverside resort. Abby loved the pool and slide at our hotel too. And we tried to get on goofys barnstormer, but they closed it down for technical difficulties while we were waiting on line. On a side note, what the heck happened in my original post??? Where did this come from?? >It was very interesting to watchHurleyLuva999 this connection unfold.< Oh well... Dawn in nj > > OMG!!! My family and I were in Disney from the 14th through the 19th. Guest guest
Dawn and I was thinking that 'HurleyLuva999' was some Jersey expression I didn't know about because it confused me too -funny huh?! Got to be that Disney magic! (or computer glitch) ) I was thinking about it -if we didn't get bumped off the Barnstormer last minute like we were, and Abby hated it for whatever reason -you never would have learned how much she loved the " big " rides. Remember we were going to try that first to see if she liked the roller coasters? So perhaps that was a good thing after all - because who knows when it comes to apraxia! (could be scared on kiddie tea-cups, but love the Hulk ride!) video footage of the Hulk (next trip for Abby) http://themeparks.about.com/od/photoandvideogallery/v/IncredibleHulk.htm =====

Guest guest
That's too funny that we were all at Port Orleans. I bet at some point we were on one of the Disney buses together...or atleast one of my 21 family members that were thare ended up on a bus with your family. We got on the barnstormer shortly after they had reopened it that day. My son's teacher from Birth to 3 was also in disney from the 14th to the 20th. I figured the HurleyLuva999 thing was an internal mishap on the boards. jerzmomof4 <Jerzmomof4@...> wrote: , WOW! we stayed at port orleans riverside resort.
