Guest guest
Today, I knew we were going to Rainforest Cafe... I couldn't find nutritional information ANYWHERE! So, I figured, I just go... eat & then calculate Points LATER! Oh, I should have REFUSED to go with my family! When I got home & figured it out... I had eaten 30 Points (that may be a little high, but I don't want to UNDER estimate) just for lunch today! I get 33 a day because I have SO much to lose, but I ate 41.5 points today... that is with just having an apple, an orange & a banana for dinner. I know I did WAY better than I would have without WW, but it is SO discouraging to have done this to myself. Another problem I am having is... I have not had a bowel movement in a four days... this is with eating at least 5 servings of fruits & vegetables (at least one apple, one orange & one serving of salad greens a day... sometimes more)... I'm also eating at least one serving of whole grains (oatmeal, whole wheat cereal, double fiber whole wheat bread or sugar free whole wheat bread)... so this makes NO sense to me... because I am exercising also... so I should be REGULAR! This is getting VERY frustrating! That is part of the reason I ate a little overboard at lunch (I was going to have the lettuce wraps & count them like Chili's lettuce wraps... but I thought eating more fatty foods might help me go (since I don't have a gallbladder... fatty foods usually make me go). Instead, I had a seafood platter with a crab cake, coconut shrimp & a piece of fish along with rice w/ a few black beans mixed in & a slaw made of no point veggies, but not sure how the sauce would have pointed, so I counted it like " normal " slaw... then, I shared a Volcano (brownies, vanilla ice cream, caramel & whipped cream) w/4 others... I didn't eat a whole lot of it as I was stuffed... I don't even know WHY I ate it! So, if it would have helped, I might have been okay with using the Points because I have the Flex Points... I'm not over for the week & I weigh-in on Tuesday, so I don't have one day before they reset... but since I'm still not going & will probably weight more than I should because of it on Tuesday... well, I'M VERY UPSET... at myself, at being overweight, at EVERYTHING! So... my question is... what should I do about no bowel movements?? I'm getting worried... I drink at least 64 oz of water... then tea & Crystal Light Lemonade on top of that... so I don't think it is dehydration. guess I just needed to vent... I feel a little better already... near Houston 349.2/325.2/
Guest guest
If I were constipated I would drink prune juice. It usually works really good and is natural. I would start out drinking a cup and drink more if that is not enough. I would also add psyllium husks to my daily diet. Psyllium husks can be found in your health food store. Just plain husks without any sugars etc. If vegs are cooked the fiber is way less so you may want to be sure you get a big salad each day too. Please let us know how you are doing. Now for the Rainforest Cafe lunch..if is over and done with. Learn what you can from this day and try not to repeat it. You can do this! Keep on going! Just focus on eating healthy and move your body as you are able. Tomorrow is a beautiful new day!!! (((HUGS))) Sharon .... well, I'M VERY UPSET... at myself, at being overweight, at EVERYTHING! Guest guest
Hi ; Yesterday is gone, and today is a new day. I understand perfectly your fears when you can't find nutritional information on a particular restaurant, and take what sounds reasonable for the points. Sounds like you did not do too badly, as long as you did not take too many bites of the Volcano. I think the fact that we are on WW, does keep us accountable when we are in a tough situation. For the constipation, I also use prune juice, or eat 2 to 4 prunes for 1 to 2 points. They really do the trick. You can heat them a little, in the microwave with a little water, and for me this seems to speed them on their way to helping my situation. If that is not palatable...add a little Splenda. They usually are sweet enough. The heating seems to increase their sweetness. Your system is just adjusting to all the fiber your are eating. I try to have two salads a day...one at lunch and one at dinner with the rest of the meal. It really helps. Hope this gives you some relief. You are going to make it, . Remember, we can always use our Flex points for an unexpected meal that is mega points, and usually there is no gain to fear when we do. Best of luck today. Don't spend too much time dwelling on what you did yesterday. It will only bring you down. Lift your head high, and charge into today with all the energy you can muster, and I am sure that scale will be kind to you tomorrow. Take heart... It sounds like you are doing a great job. You've lost 24 pounds already...that's nothing to sneeze at. that took work! Have a Super-Duper day! Pat Feeling HORRIBLE & question Today, I knew we were going to Rainforest Cafe... Guest guest
It is recommended to have at least 17 grams of fiber a day. And it is recommended to have the whole grains at every meal. I would add some oat bran to your oatmeal. A couple of tablespoons should do the trick. You should also go to your doctor to rule out any medical problem. Perhaps some green tea would help also. But whenever I'm having troubles in that area (and I haven't since I eat whole grains ever meal, including my oat bran with my oatmeal for breakfast), I look at water, whole grains, and exersize. That is the third component. Go on the floor, on all fours, and tilt your pelvis up and down. Its called the pelvic tilt, and is suppose to encourage bowel activity. It might also be that because you are reducing the amount of food you eat, your body is utilizing everything you eat, and you have little waste to show for it. As your body adjusts to your new way of eating, and if you have covered all the other points (including the doctor visit) then in time everything will 'move' properly. Guest guest
Don't forget your essential oils. I know it is so very easy to become " fat phobic. " But those 2 little boxes on our points journal Called " oils " are important. (I usually use them everyday as peanut butter!) Perhaps the points you (over)ate have just the right amount of oil to help you out. I know my mom eats well (aka lots of veggies, fruits and fiber) all week, but on the weekends she eat a " good greasy burger " and it helps " clean her out. " (Not to be disgusting.) I am not suggesting this to anyone, just making a point. Many people in my family use a tablespoon of mineral oil as a helper when one is constipated. Maybe your fat count is just too darned low! Good luck...Becky in Boise 194.4/177.6/
