Guest guest
SLP needed with ASD and Apraxia Experience Posted by: " Rob " ral8088@... ral8088 Tue Aug 8, 2006 7:54 am (PST) I have a 3yr old son who has ASD. I am looking for a SLP for him that not only has experience with autism but with Apraxia as well. We live in Cecil County, MD and are willing to travel down to Baltimore and up to Philly if necessary and all points in between. We are willing to go to the SLP and not necessarily looking for an SLP for in-home services. Thanks
Guest guest
I also live in cecil county md and haven't been able to find a SLP for my 4 yr old son who has been diagnosed with Apraxia. Please let me know if you find one, and I'll let you know if I find anything. > > SLP needed with ASD and Apraxia Experience > Posted by: " Rob " ral8088@... ral8088 > Tue Aug 8, 2006 7:54 am (PST) > I have a 3yr old son who has ASD. Guest guest
My daughter goes to Speech Pathways in Westminster, MD. Not sure how far that would be for you, but I highly recommend them. Here's their website: http://www.speechpathways.net/ My daughter doesn't have ASD, but I know they have a lot of clients who do. The two full-time therapists have PROMPT training and several others are in the process of getting it. We see Jen Kaley and she also has training in several other areas including working with kids with sensory issues. She has really given us some great insight into that. Jen is now doing therapy in the pool on Thursday and they have several other things they do. It's really a rather comprehensive group, especially for being so small. Additionally, they have an SLP from their group that works at the Schafer Center which is new and is for autistic children. Here's is that website: http://www.shafercenter.com/ Also, their prices are very reasonable and while they don't submit to insurance directly they are familiar with working with insurance. Jen also gave us some info on grants to help pay for speech. Our experience with them has been outstanding and I highly recommend them. Guest guest
I just recommend someone in Westminster, but I've now determined that Cecil County is on the Eastern shore so it's probably too far. Just in case though. It's Speech Pathways in Westminster, MD and here's their website: http://www.speechpathways.net/ I very highly recommend them. Maybe you could work it out to drive their once every two weeks since it's so far. We actually go there from West Virginia. It's about an hour and a half, but so worth it.
