My county had a fair in July every year they have a small pagent for

the kids.I have a 7 year old daughter who has been in it every year.I

got this idea to enter (my CHARGEr)in the pagent in the boys

catagory.I wasn't expecting to win i just wanted to have fun and show

everybody that even a child with needs like can participate

with other kids his age. Well the day of the pagent i dressed

in his suit put in his hearing aids and put on his glasses went and

did the walk through with him. We got off stage to wait for judging

they called everyone back up to announce the winners to my suprise

was named Baby Mister 2006.I know i will get alot of negative

comment i already have from my family for even putting him in it but

it should'nt make me a bad mother.

Why did they think it was a bad idea? I'm sure he is just as cute as all the

other boys. Good for you! :) I told Picture People the other day they should

post Max's photo as advertisement b/c he is so adorable!!! Our kiddos are

amazing and of course we are going to be proud!!! Congrats to !!!

Why would that make you a bad mother? Are the moms of the typical boys bad

moms for having their children in the pageant??? Aubrie was in the baby

contest and the little Miss contest also - because her brother had been at

her age. She does everything she would do if she didn't have CHARGE -

unless it's not safe, like contact sports. You did the right thing! We

should not hide our kids or limit their activities and exposure. They need

to be a part of the community just like their peers and siblings!!!! Go to

this website and print some stuff off to share with your family. They need

some disability awareness. www.disabilityisnatural.com

I'm glad you shared with us. You should be so proud to have the Baby Mister

2006 in the family! And kudos to your community for giving him the vote.

How fun for all of you‹especially to see your son win!!! Did he enjoy it?

Did he like getting dressed up? Did he like WINNING??

Perhaps those are the only questions to be answered. And as for being a bad

mother‹doubt it!!

Congratulations to .

I think that is totally cool. Awesome that he won.

Your family should not judge you and think you are

bad. I would have done the same. Did have fun?

That is all that counts.

That doesn't make you a bad mother at all! I try to involve Kennedy (and

always have) in as many " regular-kid " things as possible. If your daughter

has always been in it, why shouldn't ? You're the mom, it's your

choice. :) congrats to the little " Mister " , !!!

I think it is awsome!! I was thinking about putting Eva in one at our

mall. I think she has a good chance to win just like everyone else

does!! I am so proud of you and and you are also helping get

more info out there about CHARGE.
