Guest guest
Hi again everyone! needs a TON of dental work, a serious ton. Last week we went to see the most AMAZING pediatric dentist with the best beside manner I have ever seen. He has an anesthsilogist (I cannot spell LOL) that comes to his office once a month for IV sedation & they specialize in special needs kids. The total for what needs was over $3400 & our insurance was only going to cover $561. BUT they work with a group called the Grottoes of North America which is a off shoot of the Free Masons. Their outreach program is to pay 80-90% of the out of pocket expenses for dental work for special needs kids. Here is their website www.scgrotto.com. is going to qualify because he is at least 2 years developmentally delayed. Anyway this is going to really save us & I thought maybe someone else here may need this info. Guest guest
Moriah, I am so glad you found a great peds dentist! Where are they at? And thanks for the link. We are familiar with the Free Masons, because another off-shoot called the ish Rite pays for 50% of Evan's teacher of the deaf. Thanks, (mom to Evan 15 months) zandycards wrote: Hi again everyone! needs a TON of dental work, a serious ton. Guest guest
I only found about about them through the dentist. It looks like they are nationwide from their website. I think you can email them & ask to get hooked up with a dentist in your area. Moriah > Hi again everyone! > > needs a TON of dental work, a serious ton. Guest guest
When my son was 7yrs he had a bunch of dental work done. I have worked in the dental field for 18 years. I stongly encourage having it done all at once, under general anesthesia, in the hospital. With the exception of the Dr. described below, it is safer in a hospital environment. Pediatric dentists are wonderful but nothing is safer then a hospital when dealing with CHARGErs. Hospitals will have a dentist on staff. Usually you see them in their office environment then have the treatment in the hospital. My son n is a massive water drinker. At first I tried to discourage it but then I realized that he hasn't had a cavity since he is constantly rinsing his teeth. Of course we brush daily, have regular dental check ups and not much crowding so his teeth are easier to clean. The grinding is my major concern. He has lost 30% of his enamel from grinding, even with behavior management. Sundi (n) 15 yr old Re: Amazing funding source for Dental Work!! Check this out! Wow!! Thanks for sharing this! Guest guest
Hi again! I missed your question about where the dentist is. They are in Fremont, California called Young Smiles. Are you in the Bay Area? Moriah > Hi again everyone! > > needs a TON of dental work, a serious ton. Guest guest
Tag is always grinding his teeth. People always comment to me about it. He does it so often I don't even hear it anymore. My dentist said there is nothing they can do to protect the teeth. Is that your understanding also? Guest guest
I don't remember how old Tag is, but i wear a mouth block for TMJ and apparently grind my teeth hard during the night. had a mouth piece made for her cleft when she was a tiny infant, then others later. Even as an infant, she handled it extremely well. Check with your dentist. Martha
