Guest guest
Hi and Kandyis! I'm Iris and I'm 27 years old with clinical depression, 2 types of personality disorders, anxiety disorder, sleeping disorder and a mild case of anorexia, plus I have IBS, osteoporosis amongst other things. I too can understand all too well how it is to deal with illness and trying to lose weight it seems almost impossible because of all the medications, sometimes I feel like I'm cursed to be the weight that I am now forever. The dr also tells me I'm too sick to go off my meds and that i have to deal with gaining weight or not being able to lose weight, 'maybe later in life' he said. I was like 'Hell no!' that's very good advice you have there! I'm trying to change psychiatrists but my current one won't discharge me, he's driving me crazy and making me sicker. I have cut down on junk food myself and don't eat candy except I allow myself a little on the weekend, I used to eat candy ALL the time and drink regular sodas, now I only drink diet and am trying to get off the dark sodas like pepsi and coke because there is something about the coloring that prevents you from loosing weight, or is it the caffeene? I'm not sure. I just want to say I know how you gals feel and can sympathise with you. Hopefully together we can see some progress:-) Iris ----- Original Message ----- From: Starqueg Kandyis, Hi. I'm , 20 years old with fibromyalgia, anxiety, panic disorder, and depression. I know how impossible it can seem to deal with illness, and trying to lose weight. But it can be done. Start off really, really slow exercising. Go outside, walk to your neighbor's house, walk home. Then do some simple stretching. The next day, do it again. When you know you aren't on the verge of relapsing, walk two houses down the street. Just keep adding on as slowly as you need to. At the same time, start cutting out junk food. You don't have to do it instantly, start slowly. If you have a favorite fruit, find all the different things you can do with it. Use a juicer, make a salad, make a smoothie, the possibilities are endless. Sorry if some of this is stuff you already know, once I start writing, it's hard to stop. Also, try finding another doctor. Maybe go to physical therapy, if your insurance will pay for it. Good luck, I know you really need it. Oh yeah, are you on meds for panic? Once I went on meds for panic and depression, I was able to cope with pain better. And anxiety attacks cause shortness of breath, which I'm sure you know. But if you can cope with the anxiety better, it will probably help the asthma.

Guest guest
Which medication are they saying could harm your baby if you were pregnant? If it's that you are taking thyroid hormone and they are saying that will harm a fetus... tell them to drop their pants and kiss their butts.. that's WRONG! If you are taking blockers to reduce the effects of being hyperthyroid, then it might.... Run through your situation.... Ooops.. went through my stack of 'posts to catch up on' and found your first post.... Here it is: "HiIm a newbie.. My names Tempy Im 33 yr old married and live in Italy have been suffering from the thyroid since 2001... I got back my Blood Results and my TSH is low does that have anything to do with the medi s or my nodes ?? What does bother me a bit is that the nodules and cyts are growing.. love to know why... My neck swells up got differcult in swollowing... or that stress??? and its painful to touch.. My family thinks im making everything up.. its all in my head.. I did write to a doc in Italy but he ever wrote back... From docs over here dont know nothing... i went to do that Ultra scan and only coz i didnt have my papers (i didnt know i had to bring them to him) he just shouted and left everything he just took the pictures thats it... this is my blood test resultsTSH 0.41 uUI/mL 0.50 - 4.65FT3 2.5 pg/mL 1.5 - 3.5FT4 1.30 mg/dL 0.70 - 1.85" So.. from these labs... your docs can drop their pants and kiss their butts...Taking replacement hormone will not harm a fetus unless grossly over dosed and that would most likely kill the mom too. Not having enough thyroid hormone in a hypo mom will cause more harm to the baby IF she can become pregnant and go full term in the first place. Thyroid hormone can pass the placental barrier from baby to mom but not from mom to baby.. What that means is that if the mom is hypo, without enough thyroid hormone in her blood, the baby's itty bitty thyroid gland has to produce enough hormone for both of them. The baby ends up being hypo and can end up having a damaged gland from birth. If the mom is hyper, excess hormone doesn't pass to the baby and cause him to be hyper.. but mom has to deal with all the stress and strain to her body from being hyper and from having a baby to nourish as well. So neither thyroid disorder is good for a baby.. Hypo mom's have a harder time conceiving, a harder time carrying the pregnancy to full term, a great risk of miscarriage and a great risk of having a baby with either physical or mental developmental problems. If you are planning on a family the first step is to find out what is causing your thyroid levels to be off, from your other posts I gather they've not told you.... and the to get your levels to where they need to be for your body to be healthy.. then you can work on the rest... And if you do get pregnant you need to be checked regularly and have the meds adjusted to match the changes in your body during the pregnancy. The labs results that you have posted.. to me suggest that your dose is too low and that you're not converting enough of the T4 that you are taking into the T3 that your body needs. The visit that you just had... did they run new labs, are they different than the ones that you posted a couple of weeks ago?? The nodules make me think it's Hashi's.... the car accident could very well have aggravated that... Shame on your docs for being so ignorant about thyroid care.... Guest guest
Hey All!, I live in Atlanta currently and a "something" touched down this Friday and got the subdivision right behind us which it started about 1000 ft away. No one was hurt but 20 houses were destroyed from trees as we live in a heavily wooded area. I road thru there and just could'nt not help thinking it could have been us, on top of everything else, but it was'nt. That was a wake up call for my "pity party". Our comcast was down all weekend so I'm late responding to your wonderful advice and comments..from my MS diagnosis. So Sorry!!! Amber Re: Hi Thanks for the link, Med.... And for checking with me first.... The Virginia site that some of us knew about had to close yesterday, I'm happy that another one is available.
