With the exception that I would remove Pink and replace her with Marc , that sounds just like the list I would have made! Isn't Galway wonderful? When my daughter has trouble sleeping she puts in one of my old cassettes of him and off to la-la-land she goes--he's what made her decide to play flute (at least according to her it was--forget the fact that I myself play flute! Guest guest
You know, Miranda, one of my biggest pet peeves is also smokers who think they have the " right " to smoke around me and my children. They think that others have no right to tell them when or where they can or can't smoke--that's bull---- IMHO!!!! I like to listen to my music kind of loud--but common courtesy (and sometimes laws or rules, also!) keep me from doing so unless I'm in my own house--but I don't resent or get angry at others for the fact that I can't just do it anywhere! And what I would do wouldn't put anyone else in danger--except maybe their hearing LOL LOL But smoking endangers everyone around them. My biggest peeve with it is the person who will stand RIGHT outside the door to the hospital/clinic, with a NO SMOKING sign right beside them, and smoke--now everyone else has to walk through their d--- smoke to get in the building!!!! Both I and my husband have spoken up and told people that it's a no smoking area for a REASON, and that our son is one of those reasons--usually people will walk away or put out their cigarette, but every once in awhile, we've ran into someone who wants to make an issue out of it--gets interesting! Guest guest
, LOL LOL LOL Great kids!! LOL I'm trying to teach my kids to do stuff like that too--right now, I will say things like " Hold your breath guys! " Cody is definitely my most outspoken one though--he will say things like " Pew, what's that smell???? It stinks! " --only he does that at some inappropriate moments (use your imaginations there--at the grocery store, etc.) LOL LOL , mom to Codybug (pwcf, 5-1/2), a (wocf, 12-1/2) and DJ (wocf, 7) smichelle15@... Guest guest
Miranda, Can't husbands just be so SWEET sometimes??? We had sold my flute many, many years back, when we were so broke (young couple/new baby--you all know how that is!) that we needed the money badly, and it was a really hard thing for me to do--I was very attached to my flute. On Mother's Day weekend last year (2000), Mark came in from being out of town for two weeks, and he left a bit later saying he had to run to Walmart. Well, he came home a bit later, and walked in with a goofy look on his face and had something behind his back. When he handed me the flute and said " Happy Mother's Day " he had tears in his eyes, which I could barely see through the tears in my eyes! Well, doing that earned him quite a few brownie points that day! LOL LOL LOL Usually all I get is a card, and he'll maybe buy me something like an appliance of some sort (breadmaker, for example), but this was totally unexpected and sweet. , mom to Codybug (pwcf, 5-1/2), a (wocf, 12-1/2) and DJ (wocf, 7) smichelle15@... Guest guest
Miranda--give that flue a try; you'll never regret it! I played (before a rheumatological disease limited my hand use: oboe, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, culcimer, viola (including country music, which was a blast!), classical and jazz/blues guitar, and the piano. Now I can only manage the piano, but it satisfies me; I played flute briefly in high school, evan piccolo! My mother was a concert pianist and I guess it must be one of the OTHER kind of genes that one can inherit; my father played trombone! My sister had tin ears, for real; my brothers play everything, cousins, too! Have fun, and if it's hard to afford lessons, due what I did to play recorder (renaissance) wooden flutes--buy a dummy book--after all, using a wind instrument has got to be more fun than any other form of respiratory exercise! Have fun! n J. Rojas wcf, Family Liaison person at CFRI (Cystic Fibrosis Research, Inc.)
Guest guest
n, You are very talented. I only wish I could keep up with the one instruments. I believe my mom was disappointed I never tried the piano. I played flute and piccolo in highschool. I haven't played in so long. I know I would love to sit down and play it though, but these 2 wild kids keep me going. Miranda Mom to 6 and Isabelle 10.5 months both wcf > >Miranda--give that flue a try; you'll never regret it! Guest guest
Hi all, I don't post much here, and usually try to catch up once a week or so, life has been busy around here... but figure I'll use this questionnaire to introduce myself to all the new people on the list these days.... NAME: Daelynn , currently married to Felix (almost 11 years) HERE DO YOU LIVE: New London, Texas NAME(age) of CHILDREN: 12 almost 13 who plans to be a professional ball player when he grows up and has all the girls calling (UGH teenager), Clayton 10 who says he wants to be a scientist or astronaut...he can too, 6 (birthday is April 6, 1995) who says when he grows up he is going to get one ear pierced and his nose pierced and 3 tattoos, his first job will be an artist, his second job at wal-mart, his third job a tv star, and his last job is going to be President and he is going to live to be the oldest man in the world...oh yeah he has cf too. tells everyone he mets of his life plans...guess he'll be kissing babies next and passing out Vote for for President 2040. Wouldn't put it past him. He had a great start in life and mostly sinus stuff until 2-1/2 then some lung stuff and a nasty infection requiring 24 days IV's, the past two years he has been amazingly healthy and never slows down. He required only 2 rounds of oral antibiotic in the last year and that is while attending public Kindergarten...this was for sinus infections only. HOBBIES: carrying boys to baseball games and practice, reading, e-mail, and newest gardening and yard work. PET PEEVE: my husband, oh...people who think because i am a blonde and female I just can't 'get it', don't get me wrong I love blonde jokes but it's the real life stuff, and slow drivers when I'm in a hurry to get somewhere (mostly these bother me because I don't drive stupid trying to pass people so I get stuck behind them for 50 miles), people who deliberately do things that will hurt their health (smoking, abundant drinking, not watching what they eat when they should) FAVOURITE ARTIST: I like a mixture of music... modern Christian I like Rich Mullins, Eli, Tawlks...long list, Country (I like the Dixie Chicks...Earl is Dead) and many artists I just listen to the music, I like classical, jazz at times, rock (all but heavy punk) I don't care for rap music though. Guess that covers it... Daelynn
