Re: Lyn with Poochie's Tailor

Lynn, Have you looked for a free, or greatly reduced rate clinic? If you give me your city and state I'll see if I can find one for you. No guarantees, but they are popping up around the county these days. They can be harder to find because they are usually small and often aren't taking money from the feds or states, and its only through word of mouth that most people find them. The nicest thing about them is the docs who volunteer their time are usually incredibly dedicated.Lynn with Poochi's Tailor wrote:

Lynn,

If it is true you are anemic PLEASE checkout this website

http://www.ironoverload.org/anemia.htm & learn all you can sometimes

anemia can cause all sorts of problems too, also it can be a red flag

as to future problems. The website is very easy to understand & no

big words. I copied it & took it to my doc to read. In my case I had

a heart attack & died twice at age 42, (saw my dead relatives)I am

still in the trying to convince my doc to do some further testing on

my thyroid. It is in the VERY low " normal " range. My basal temp has

been a consitant 97.3 & my pulse tends to be 86 to 95 most

mornings. So I am keeping records & I will have ammo next doc visit. I

am also going to try to find a thyroid specialist here in Las Vegas.

since I have no insurance I can bounce around til I find a good doc.

I haven't been able to find any free clinics here, yet

first nurse was nice, but the second one (the one who does the

diagnosis) treated me like an idiot. When I told her I gained 20+

pounds in 4 months she actually snickered, looked at my chart and

said, " and you are how old? " I said, " I'm 37 not 100! " She then

stared at my face and said, " you seem to have an awful lot of facial

hair ... " I said, " and what does that mean to all of this?? " She

said, " oh nothing really, it's just an observation. " The insults kept

coming. She said they wouldn't run anything more than a TSH because

they didn't want to waste funds. I told the woman who runs the

program, and she apologized, but she also only offered to add a Free

T4 and a cbc - no other tests. She thinks I am only anemic. There

didn't seem much point in returning to be insulted like that.

Oh Lynn isn't that the way it usually goes. I am in the same boat your in to an extent mine is with my meds though. They have me on so many meds right now that it costs 200.00 a month for just one and I am on Lipator, plavix.metoporol, Effexor XR, temazapam, seroquel, darvocet. I think we pay close to 350.00 a month in meds it is just rediculous. Butyour right if you have a job you usually make to much for free things and not enough for a reduced rate and your stuck what are you suppose to do . Tina Teague

You are probably also insulin resistant because that tends to run with the PCOS. I should have added, I am not actually furry. She had to get very close

to my face, and then you can see there is blonde peach-fuzz near my jaw

line. I had never had anyone in my entire life make note of it before. I

don't want to paint a picture of me being a hairy thing.

I am acquainted with some of those types. One of whom thinks *he's* insulted by my thinking he's a chicken sh*t because he couldn't face me about the schedule. He came into the office, put the schedule on the desk next to mine, walked out without saying a word and 5 minutes later called me on his cell phone to tell me I couldn't have the days off I asked

for. He just can't understand why I think he's chicken sh*t. DUH!! i checked into that once... the dental schools sometimes charge more than the dentists offices. i really want a plan so that after my thyroid surgery (i've just decided that it IS coming out lol) my body can heal then i can have everything done. i'm thinking though that since the nurse i spoke with yesterday said it all could be due to my enlarged goiter/thyroid that maybe the docs will make sure to take this seriously.

For cheap dentists here usually you go to the universities.. the students need victims oops I mean patients to work on and so do the students from other countries who are challenging the exams. Here anyways you pay a bare minimum for supplies..and the teacher over sees and does any of the work beyond a cleaning..Kats3boys

HealthCheck has the VIP PLUS II that includes so many things for $124.50,

altogether, if you give the About.com discount code (code is simply 12345).

Post the results here and let us ogle them. There is a doctor's name on the

lab test orders, so if the drawing lab asks who the doctor IS, tell them

" See, there's the name of the ordering doctor right up there at the top. "

They're just so used to having to send results to a doctor, that they're

usually going to ask this. The hospital lab where I get my draws now are

very used to seeing me, so they don't ask anymore, lol.
