Topper and everyone.. Any advice on handling this?

I am starting to feel like a dork for writing anymore.

But, here is the next part of the saga. I went to

the ER one week ago (last Friday - the next day we

left for vacation in Cananda and I did not want to be

subjucted to the health care system there - as if ours

is any better, right?)..

So, I show up at the ER and they rush me back because

I cannot breathe worth snot. My pulse was 160 and my

bp was 180/90 (usually my pulse is 80 and my bp is

117/74). They thought it might be a pulmonary

embolism so hey ran lots of tests. Then, of course, I

was told to lower my Armour more.

So, I have been off all sugar, caffeine, Armour, etc..

for 7 days and my cardiac symptoms are no better

(shocking..) But, if I try to take 1/4 grain of

Armour, it does make things worse. I really don't

know what to do. Coming off of Armour is tough. I

keep getting symptom after symptom and I know what is

coming next.

I am not hyper (not hot, sweaty, jittery, anxious,

etc..) but I am getting really hypo really quickly

(constipation is setting in badly, swelling tongue and

rest of body for that matter, sluggish, body pain -

actually quite bad for me, headaches, etc..) I also

feel a heaviness in my chest ann I only get a good

inhaling breath about every five minutes.

I am going to foloow up today with doc, but I am sure

she will be less than helpful. She said if I wasn't

better after a week of no caffeine and Armour, she

would send me to a cardiologist.

Any advice?

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling good...

?Have you ever been checked out for allergies? you know, one of

those back prick tests where they give you row upon row of touches

of known allergines to see what you react to???

And/Or, have you ever been tested for Asthma????

Have you ever had to use an Inhaler?

?Is it possible that you have an infection of the sinuses that has

spread into the bronchial tubes??? thus causing a difficult time of

breathing?

Me thinks they need to look for other causes of why you cann't

breath....even if you were severely hyper with Armour you should, by

now, be able to get a good breath after a week of no Armour and

caffine....

Are you taking any kind of AntiHistimine?

If you haven't been tested for allergies, see if they can do the blood testing.. it will help you have less of a reaction because you won't actually be subjected to possible mass allergic attack if you do.

You do need a cardiologist to run some tests and to look at things

further.. you also need adrenal testing and your labwork..

Why not T3?? T3 is immediate release..unfortunately excessive T3

effects the heart and this is why docs are scared of T3..

This does not mean you have excessive T3 in your system but either

you are converting well or your body is clueless as to what to do

with the T3..I am guessing your body has been with out sufficent

supplies of T3 for so long that it is clueless or what to do with

the T3..

You might do better going on T4 only ( synthroid) and having adrenal

testing done and correcting any heart issues and underlaying adrenal

issues before trying back on T3..for some people it is better to

wake the body up slowly then to give it a kick start..

I have to come to know these statements of yours as being completely true!

Even though a body may need all that T3, it doesn't mean that it will be

ready to handle the full amt, EVEN a couple of yrs from now. The body

didn't take a few months to get sick, so it certainly won't accept all the

good stuff immediately. I have seen some people catch their thyroid illness

right away, due to good medical care and their own smarts. Some people

really don't what kind of damage has already been done inside, but some find

out right away. I think that Armour is a wonderful product, but I KNOW that

I can't take normal amts of it. Whether that is from the fact that it

doesn't take as much to make my body run right, or if it's from adrenal

ailments, or what, remains to be seen, but I do know that I can't even take

two full grains of it for any length of time without dire consequences. At

the same time, I CAN take 125 of T4 AND 30 to 45 mgs of Armour, which is

actually more than what the 2 grains of Armour was, so somebody tell me! I

believe it's because MY body was without for so long, that it has to take

and hold that T4 for a long time and ever so slowly get my body used to the

idea that it MAY get what it needs eventually. Gosh, it may take me til

retirement, but one thing I know is that I feel much better than I did 3 yrs

ago, befoe I started all these changes. And, at times, DURING the changes,

I felt worse than I ever did before, but it's been worth it.
