! and !

Tuesday, May 6th! Drum Roll, please!!!!!!!

What a festive day for Fibroidians here! Well, maybe " festive " isn't the

best word to use when you're about to undergo a myomectomy....But an

important day it will be for you surgery-bound ladies.

Perhaps we should get a little friendly competition going here on this board.

Maybe keep track of the total fibroids lost every month--kinda like Weight

Watchers.....'ya know total fibroids lost on this group in each given month

of every year.

OK, maybe that wasn't one of my best ideas....LOL!!

Anyway, ladies, I'm sure you'll be looking forward to having this behind you.

I think I can say on behalf of all WWW (We Winter Women --, Janet, me

Cheryl, Ana, Debbie,Tammi, G, even Glitter, etc.......) that we can't

believe how fast time flies. . . once surgery is behind you... And it will

be the same for you, too.

So, Good Luck, " Vaya con Dios! " and " Go with the Flow! "

Um...strike that last one!!!!

Best wishes from

Roma

PS: : How are you feeling now?!?!?!

Hi ,

Glad I read your post before I took off for shopping today. I didn't

know you didn't have a computer at home so I hope you are able to read

this before you leave for the day.

Since you will be following me in surgery with Dr. Levine on Tuesday, I

will do my best to see to it that he is on time for your surgery! I

promise to try not to keep him too long - just long enough to get all

these fibroids out so I never (hopefully!) have to worry about them

again.

Have you decided about whether to go with the epidural or not? I'm

still not sure. If you remember the anesthesiologist's name who you

talked to during your pre-op I would love to know his name. Yolanda

said he was more open to an epidural than the one she spoke to. Dr.

Levine said it's really up to the patient so didn't seem to have a

preference either way. I can't seem to make up my mind. I did speak to

one of the doctors (I think he was the head of the dept.) in

anesthesiology this morning about this cough that I have. I had called

Dr. Levine about it yesterday and he suggested I call there to make sure

it wouldn't be a problem for the surgery. The doctor said that it

shouldn't be. So, I asked about general vs. epidural and he said they

do a lot more generals because most people want to be out. He said it

can be done either way but that they don't do as many epidurals. So,

I'm still undecided.

Anyway, the three of us are going to do just fine and I think have chose

a great doctor for the surgery. Dr. Levine's office even called me

today because he wanted them to remind me to have him paged on Monday

when I go for my pre-op so that we can meet. I'm really looking forward

to getting this over with.

Take care and try to enjoy your weekend. It will all be fine on

Tuesday!

ilshanonj,

I have my Ab Myo on the same day, Tuesday, 6/2. I am starting to get

nervous. Tuesday, May 6th is my last Lupron injection..... Yeah!

My doc has filled out my short term medical leave forms and marked me down

to be out 6 weeks for recovery.

I'll keep you in mind and say a prayer on our surgery date!

Hi Roma,

Thanks for the good wishes - don't forget Yolanda though! She's going

to be leading the way on Monday with her surgery with Dr. Levine. Mine

is Tuesday morning followed by . I'm not sure any of us can

compete with the 46 fibroids (at least hopefully not!) but we'll be

giving it our best shot.

Actually I'm feeling pretty good right now. I was really having a lot

of pain after I first made the appt. for surgery up until about a month

ago. Then I started feeling a little better. I don't know why exactly

but maybe things just moved around a little. I don't have to get up

every night several times and then TRY to go to the bathroom without

much success. That much is gone for some reason.

I am so grateful to all the women on the list for the information and

encouragement. Without it, I think I might have given in to my gyn and

had the hyster. just out of desperation, thinking that was the only

option.

Hopefully I'll be " reporting from Boston " about how things went (my

husband's bringing his laptop so I hope to be able to keep up with the

list while we're staying there until next Sunday).

Thanks again!

R.

PS. Roma, I keep forgetting to ask what kind of dog you have. I have

three - two English setters and a lhasa mix. So, I guess you could say

I'm a little dog crazy. My setters are going to the kennel for the week

and the little one is staying home with my son (who better take good

care of her!). I'm going to miss them terribly and will be so glad to

get home. E-mail me off the list sometime so we can discuss dogs. It's

a little off topic here!
