Guest guest Posted August 3, 2006 Report Share Posted August 3, 2006 after a couple of false starts I finally finished at about 4:30 after arriving at the clinic at 1:30 (but my appointment was at 2....haha...see previous post, first chemo tomorrow for that story) I feel a little floaty right about now, but not BAD. Tired, probably due to stress. I did sleep ok last night for some odd reason, I think that the port is making me focus on THAT rather than other stuff. I did pee red...before I left the center, but not since I got home. I do have 2 kinds of medication but there is no real instruction on either of the bottles! (just take for nausea and vomiting) I am guessing if one doesn't work take the other. The pharmacist said that they shouldn't be taken together, and of course the caveat...do not operate heavy machinery. (does a computer count as heavy machinery?) The nurse said that 'we like you to drink 8, 8 ounce glasses of water a day, and no, coffee doesn't count! (drat) But pretty much whatever I'd like to eat, that sounds ok, and the doc said, 'don't do like at thanksgiving, so it sits in your tummy' which I thought was cute. Right about now I am not hungry, they gave me some snacks at the clinic, and some coffee, while I was 'filling up' I bet it's more expensive than gasoline, but not by a whole lot at this point, with Gas being what it is! (that's a little joke...trying to keep it light) My mouth feels a little dry, but not icky dry, and have a slight headache, but not horrible. I think the first dose is the scariest, as we don't know what to expect of the actual procedure or of the side effects. Later treatments you're familiar with the procedure, and it feels much easier. You will get more tired, and the only thing to do about that is to rest; any other effects, your doctors will advise about.
