Guest guest
Hi Girls, Well went for #2 A/C treatment today, with no success, my port wouldn't give a blood return. Soooo, it's off to the hospital this morning for a die tracking, hoping all with be ok, so I can get the treatment on Friday morning. If not it may be another surgery for a adjustment or new port. In the meantime, night before last my hair is in sleeping mode, lost alot on Tuesday and today, but still have quit a bit considering, but I had 3 x the normal head of hair to start with, so I feel lucky. The Onc prescribed Tagiment for the heart burn and is in hopes that it is that that is causing the headaches as the both started the same time. Fingers crossed. So for the very most I feel good and doing ok, as to most. Frustrated about the port and delay of treatment, but I guess these things happen. To all of you, I pray for you all for continue good futures, and for those who are having problems with their side effects and other health issues, I pray for them to ease and lean to a better outcome. Much love to all, Jolene

Guest guest
Depends what time of chemo you're getting and for how long. Also, whether your veins are difficult to access. Adriamycin can damage your veins. Jolene, with my port it was easy to infuse, but hard to get blood at times. The nurses would put me in all different positions (tilting backwards in chair, standing up, arms over my head), and thankfully something eventually worked. Hope they can figure out what's going on with your port, so you can get to treatment #2. - lilahope777 wrote on 6/15/2006, 4:41 PM: > Hi Jolene - Did they get your port working again? Guest guest
Hi Janet, I believe so, all that I have talked to from those who have bc and the Doctors say it is so much better for you and easier. Veins make the treatments so much harder and the port is so easy on you. My veins are hard to get to, only 1 on the arm they can use and it's getting harder to use now for just even my blood tests, my onc doesn't like blood drawn from the port for blood counts. Besides our hospitals lab hasn't trained for port blood removal yet, so you have to go to er to have it done, and that is a pain. Hope all is well with you and take care, Jolene Re: A little set back update Hi Jolene - Did they get your port working again? Is getting a port " standard operating procedure " these days?
